Passenger plane carrying 62 people crashes outside São Paulo, Brazil

A passenger plane carrying 62 people has crashed on the outskirts of São Paulo, according to Brazil’s Civil Defense, reports CNN Brasil. The plane hit multiple houses, it also said.

Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva has said it “appears” all the passengers may have died in the crash.

“I would like everyone to stand up so that we can observe a minute of silence because a plane has just crashed in the city of Vinhedo, in São Paulo, with 58 passengers and 4 crew members and it appears they all died,” he said, in a video shared on X..

I hope that the fatalities are limited to the aircraft.  It hit several houses in the crash

I just saw this too. So sad. I haven't seen any updates yet so there's no report on the people who were in the houses or on the ground.

They're reporting no residents hurt in crash and only one house was damaged.

Damn. The video hit me like a ton of bricks. I can't imagine what was running through their minds when the aircraft was spiraling downwards like that. There's really nothing they could do. 🙁

The only one I've ever heard of that would have been worse is an economy airliner that crashed in the Everglades many years ago.  Someone had stored oxygen generators improperly and it caused a fire in the cabin.  Imagine having smoke in the cabin and no way to vent it

i saw the video, absolutely horrible.

In my mind its so weird seeing a plane going down almost straight down, no momentum forward.
