Ellen White Prophecies

Back in the late 1800s to early 1900s, Ellen White related the following prophecies (there are many others). What two occurrences in our world comes to mind when you read the following? ... 

Number 1: 

"Satan is working in the atmosphere; he is poisoning the atmosphere, and here we are dependent upon God for our lives—our present and eternal lives..." [[—Selected Messages 2:52 (1890). LDE 26.4]] 

"God has not restrained the powers of darkness from carrying forward their deadly work of vitiating the air, one of the sources of life and nutrition, with a deadly miasma. Not only is vegetable life affected but man suffers from pestilence.... These things are the result of drops from the vials of God's wrath being sprinkled on the earth, and are but faint representations of what will be in the near future." [[—Selected Messages 3:391 (1891). LDE 27.1]] 

Number 2: 

Ellen White's late 1901 New York City vision predicted (Testimonies Volume 9, page 11+): 

• Skyscrapers would be built. 

• These buildings would be considered fireproof. 

• An alarm of fire would be followed by people on the ground saying that the "lofty" buildings were "perfectly safe." 

• They would burn as pitch. 

• The fire engines wouldn't be able to stop the inferno. 

• The firemen wouldn't be able to operate their fire engines. 

• The buildings would fall. 

• The fearfulness of it all would be unimaginable.

Modern humanity takes your point much farther.  They accept NO prophet as being true or God-inspired.  We have quite a few on this site who will never accept the writings of the Hebrew prophets as accurate, no matter how perfectly their predictions unfold in modern age.  Fortunately, millions of humans will not be so prideful or so well "educated".  They will see, hear, and believe.

One reason might be that to do so would involve serious changes they don't wanna make. Hey, true Bible Christianity is not for the weak. Death to self is required. "And again I say unto you, It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God." Here, you can be rich, with not a dime to your name.

Matthew 19:24

One of the Sumerian words for camel is amsikurak.

What if the original text used the very similar word 'eškiri = nose rope, tether' instead and the translator, associating the nose rope with a camel, mistakenly thought that it meant camel, confusing the meaning of both words?

 

If so, the correct translation would be: It is easier for a thread to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.

 

(Anyone who has tried to thread a needle knows how difficult that is.)

One reason is likely that many are tired of reading bull****e masquerading as Christianity.

Jesus would return before slavery was abolished.-Early writings pp 35

Adventists alive in 1856 would see Jesus's return. -Testimonies For the Church vol.1, pp 131-132

Enoch is on Jupiter with Tall Pure People - Early Writings pp 39-40

Jesus will return in a few months (1850) - Early Writings pg. 58

I drink 90% tea and the rest coffee and juice, with an occasional glass of crunchy tap water. Gotta have those minerals.

Folgers Crystals. I became addicted to the MRE and C Rats Folgers packs as a Army brat and cadet and never changed. 

With a occasional cup of my wife's tea in her mug.

Perhaps yes.. this is also something else to consider (picture below). The way to life is called a narrow path. Few find it. Can't enter in (the spiritual Kingdom of God) with all that stuff. Whatever the treasures may be... Women. Money. Video games, social status....etc.

No. There are many true Christians in any denomination... should be the same teachings of dying to self, or selflessness. The very opposite of fallen human nature.
