It’s not in place. That’s the whole point.

I think it's just another lie.

I have a friend who was raised JW and she ran away from home when her father told her she could no longer go to school.   Her younger sister ran away as well.   It is ridiculous to pretend like science is anti god.

@Guyver

This is what happened with Lucifer and the other fallen angels. Why they fell and was kicked out of heaven. They came to the point where they loved themselves more than they loved God. Then "there was war in heaven" Revelation 12:7

Expand

It’s interesting that you believe that.  So, all loving, all knowing, all powerful God can have enemies, and they can actually violate his peaceful loving nature by instigating and accomplishing war in heaven.  It seems to me that heaven would be the one place where wars could not exist…but….to each his or her own.

[[I wanted to know honestly why you would put forth the notion that an all-knowing, all-loving, all-powerful God cannot have enemies..? Why not? Sure you've heard the saying if you truly love someone you'll let them go. Instead of forcing them and not giving them a choice.]]

Yes indeed. War in heaven. Lucifer was actively engaged in "traffick" or "Merchandise." He was peddling something around heaven...what was it? Lies... he's called the "father of lies" the originator of lies. Edit: take a look at his dialog with Eve in the garden of Eden and you will see an example of what He was doing in heaven and how he got a third of the angels on his side.

I think something you're missing maybe is that there is a factor that God will not/ cannot control for --> human choices and behavior. Humans are not robots.. spirits are no different. God enlightens the mind and heart but will never possess and control a person by force. Devils do that.

רְכֻלָּה rᵉkullâh, rek-ool-law'; feminine passive participle of H7402; trade (as peddled):—merchandise, traffic.

Not many commenting on this one..

That’s because it’s false.  The Earth is not hanging on nothing.  It is suspended in its orbit by gravitational attraction to the sun.  Did you know that the Earth travels at 67,000 m.p.h.?  That’s hardly hanging on nothing.

"gravitational attraction to the sun." Yes not a physical object..

But I did not make the argument that it does or not move. But that it looks like this no object holding it up

A a planet's gravity well is still not "hanging".

I tried to count how many different denominations of the christian religion there are in the U.S. and gave up after a while,  but I have witnessed that splitting over some idiotic disagreement on interpretation, or sometimes it's about money.

That denomination splitting is caused by a hypothetical separation allele in the Christian gene pools.

It is unknown on which chromosome its gene lies. Nor is it known whether the separation allele is dominant or recessive. (My guess is that it is recessive.)

More than one gene may be involved ...

Not moving is what hanging means...

But that it looks like this no object holding it up.

... which is also what what holding it means.

And I'll bite :In your opinion, why would the earth need to be held up instead of   .what? Held down? (I already regret asking.)

I won't even bother explaining the physics behind a gravity well to her. That would be like trying to teach a spider monkey to use a Samsung Galaxy.

Gravity is a very physical force, walking without it would be one hell of trip!

"hangeth the earth upon nothing" Job 26:7.

Another interpretation could be.....

In the beginning God created the heaven...(the substance of celestial space) and the earth (the physical body of celestial space).

image.png.6bcfaed3251eb7ba9741f9a1a719f60d.png

And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep.

The moon was made because in the early universe in which we reside, celestial objects were crashing into each other violently.  That’s how Earth became a gigantic lava flow all over itself, and the moon was formed from the ejected particles of a collision that Young Earth had with another celestial body or planet.  It was like four billion years ago.

Below is a Bible prophecy that was confirmed by secular historians (a non-Biblical source).

The Exile of the Ancient Israelites in Babylon

In the 8th Century B.C.E., shortly after his recovery from a severe illness, Hezekiah the king of Jerusalem received a delegation from Merodach-baladan, king of Babylon. Instead of trusting in Jehovah to protect him against enemies, Hezekiah instead decided to expose all of his wealth and his dominion to Merodach-baladan who apparently saw Hezekiah as a possible ally against the then world power of Assyria and vice versa.  (See Isaiah 39:1 and 2)  After Hezekiah did that (exposed his wealth to the Babylonians to impress them as possible allies) Jehovah sent the Prophet Isaiah to Hezekiah with the following warning:

"{5} Isaiah now said to Hezekiah: "Hear the word of Jehovah of armies, {6} 'Look! Days are coming, and all that is in your house and all that your forefathers have stored up to this day will be carried off to Babylon. Nothing will be left,'" says Jehovah. (Isaiah 39:5-6)

Remember, Assyria was the world power at the time of the above pronouncement.  One hundred years later, Babylon replaced Assyria as the dominant world power. This time, another prophet, Jeremiah, was inspired to repeat Isaiah's warning. Jeremiah proclaimed:

"I will bring [the Babylonians] against this land and against its inhabitants . . . And all this land must become a devastated place, an object of astonishment, and these nations will have to serve the king of Babylon seventy years."—Jeremiah 25:9, 11.

"About four years after Jeremiah uttered that prophecy, the Babylonians made Judah part of their empire. Three years after that, they took some Jewish captives, along with some of the wealth of the temple at Jerusalem, to Babylon. Eight years later, Judah revolted and was again invaded by the Babylonian king, Nebuchadnezzar. This time, the city and its temple were destroyed. All its wealth, and the Jews themselves, were carried off to distant Babylon, just as Isaiah and Jeremiah had foretold.—2 Chronicles 36:6, 7, 12, 13, 17-21."

ARCHEOLOGY CONFIRMS THE SHOCKING FULFILLMENT OF THIS PROPHECY:

"The Archaeological Encyclopedia of the Holy Land notes that when the Babylonian onslaught was over,  "the destruction of the city [Jerusalem] was a total one." Archaeologist W. F. Albright states: "Excavation and surface exploration in Judah have proved that the towns of Judah were not only completely destroyed by the Chaldeans in their two invasions, but were not reoccupied for generations—often never again in history." (Sources JW.ORG and BJU Seminary)
