I've come to think diet and exercise are good of course, but they just slow down the inevitable so not that big of a deal.

I like this ^ ^ :)

Absolutely not after the experience I had while in a coma. I had what I believe to be a NDE. I now believe there is something after death so much right up to the point before I can state it as a fact.

When death does come knocking on my door I will  mentally prepare for it and embrace it and hopefully die with a smile on my face.

So no, I am not afraid.

When I was younger, I was very scared.  But now, I am not.

Not afraid of dying just afraid of leaving my two babies behind 🧡

This! My death does not bother me. The pain it will cause my loved ones does.

There are only 2 possibilities after physical death.

    1) You go on to an idyllic afterlife.

    2) You cease to exist.

Neither of these should worry you much.

I am puzzled as to why some posters here say they are not frightened of dying because it is inevitable. I don't see the logic in this. Surely that would make it even more terrifiying, the fact that it can't be avoided?

Some of us are not afraid of dying because of other reasons.   I know I am not afraid of dying because of how I reacted on two separate occassions when someone bigger and stronger than I was tried to attack me.   They became afraid because I wasn't, instead of cowering I went for them.   (in the first instance my thought was that he may kill me but I will have a peice of him to prove who did it).

A fib sucks....

One of my Navajo brothers has a defibrilator type thing in his chest to restart his heart.   For some reason his just stops suddenly and he has lived with this device for over 10 years, had to get it replaced last year.

My pulse usually runs about 55-60 even with the arrhythmia skip. It's now jumping up into the 90s for no reason.

Dr. Rut says it’s broken heart syndrome.

I can only speak from my personal experience.   To me, knowing it's going to happen and preparing myself for that has taken a lot of the sting out of it, so to speak.  I am not thrilled with the pain that may be associated with it but I have peace that it will happen and I will face it with as much dignity as I can.

I have flatlined twice, once for two minutes and I don’t remember anything from when it happened. I think since death is inevitable, no one should be afraid of death, I mean we have our entire lives to prepare for it. I see death as a natural part of being human, I also think it makes us strive to be the best we can be while we are alive. I also believe that death is not the end of the road, i think it’s only our next stage of existence.

I have been shot, stabbed, close to blown up, and tortured to the point I thought my time was over, I can’t go through an Airport scanner without it singing like a bird, COVID came nearer to killing me than anything I had encountered, I didn’t have a private pension or paid National Insurance because I never expected to live to benefit from it.

There was a point in my life where mine or anyone's meant nothing to me.

I am older now, with a new mindset and loving life, recovering from Long Covid, enjoying my early retirement, my family, my dogs, and all the wildlife I feed, and catching up on my National Insurance, my pension is covered by my investments and shares, I can draw my Civil Service one if I need it.

I am enjoying life at a different level now, trying to fit in the best I can in society, although I do avoid people when I can, I am waiting for my new car to be released so I can buy it and start hitting the outdoors with my dogs wild camping and living off the what we forage or catch, (I will take food for my dogs  lol).

Am I afraid of death?  No, I am afraid of how it affects my family and dogs.

not at all :)

I had a stroke at the begining of last year (one of the reasons why I have not been on as much), and now the heart is playing up, so the old mortality question comes up in conversations, and its a no from me, not afraid to die, dont want to, to many things to do, people to help, but should the reaper appear I wont beg to remain alive, I will go along without complaint.

I always say, I love you, each time I end a converstion with friends and family,

so in saying that, just in case

Love you guys, you've have made me laugh, sigh in frustion, bang my head on the desk, have given me many things to think about, in all, I've loved the conversations on here

That's how I feel about it. No matter how I feel it's unstoppable so instead of fear why not...acceptance.

I have no fear of myself dying but I don't want to see any more loved ones pass. From about 5, when I sort of understood death having pets die, I thought well when I go it will be one less human ruining the planet. I was a strange child but luckily turned into a model citizen.

The thing that bothers me most about dying is what wonderful things I am going to miss in the future.  Things like (hopefully benevolent) first contact with aliens, knowing and seeing what my descendents get to do, the next big things in human advancement (colonising Mars, maybe).  As to dying itself, like a few on here, I would fear the manner of my going if it should be traumatic or excruciatingly painful.  Death itself?  I rather lean towards non- existence though would love to be proved wrong and find myself in some wonderful afterlife.
