If you find that dreams are making you wake up feeling tired, then there are things you can do to stop this. For a start, you can eat foods that help stop you from dreaming, such as honey, oats, bananas, almonds, fish, green leafy veges, valerian tea, and brown rice. You can also stay away from foods that make you dream or increase nightmares, such as spicy food, sugar, red meat, alcohol, and pizza. Apparently avoiding staying up late, keeping your bedroom at a cool temperature, sleeping on your side, and doing some relaxation exercises before bed can help. If that fails, there are drugs your doctor can prescribe.
jethrofloyd Posted August 31 #4 Share Posted August 31 A dreams can bring some good things. Kenth Richards of the Rolling Stones said: The band's biggest hit 'Satisfaction' came to him in his sleep. He recorded a tough version of the famous riff on a his cassette player. He had no idea he had written it.
Portre Posted August 31 #5 Share Posted August 31 Once while reading a book on consciousness, the author mentioned another researcher whose approach to the subject was through the study of lucid dreaming. That researcher hired an "expert" [my quotes] to help train the subjects on dream recall and lucid dreaming. One tool mentioned was the use of crystals. This sounded ridiculous to me. There is no way a crystal could affect dreams but something I could try. I never recall dreams. I got a crystal and immediately began recalling dreams. I had vivid dreams, or dreams that felt more like memories. The crystal I got was kind of bent, roughly but not really crescent shape. I had set it with the concave-ish side pointing toward me. One night, I wondered what if anything would happen if I turned the crystal around, "pointing" away from me. This should make no difference. It made a big difference, a sleep paralysis difference. I woke up knowing immediately it was sleep paralysis but the dream was "real". Even after the rest of my mind woke up, I still had to turn on the light. I knew it was a dream, yet still had to make sure. There is no way a crystal could affect dreams. A crystal affected my dreams.
Coil Posted September 1 #6 Share Posted September 1 (edited) Once upon a time, man had figurative thinking, and when man acquired a thinking mind, this consciousness went inside and wakes up in us when we sleep. So sleep is a return to the previous consciousness of a person who was once active in us. This consciousness in those days had great strength, memory, superpowers, so under hypnosis a person can do things that he cannot do in reality. Since we have lost power over this consciousness, we cannot control ourselves in a dream and leave the body consciously. Ancient people knew how to easily leave their bodies at night and visit the world of the gods who joyfully greeted them, so they did not need religions, they communicated with the gods personally. And when a person could no longer consciously visit the world of the gods or communicate with natural spirits, as was the case in paganism, then earthly spiritual teachers were needed to guide him to spiritual life. Bed of chaos Posted September 3 #7 Share Posted September 3 (edited) I wouldn't consider these breakthroughs. Though it's always nice to see new articles. The "virtual car" experiment, the dreamers followed instructions. It doesn't necessarily mean they dreamt about car. Also don't think we need any significant advances w dream recall. If someone wants to remember their dreams, it's not really complicated. Edited September 3 by Bed of chaos
