If it took a human sacrifice to appease God then humans are more powerful than the Bible wishes to admit, hence why the Biblical God was essentially scared that we'd become like the gods, knowing right from wrong. That says a lot about the nature of deity to the early Jews and Christians and not in a good way.

HI Cormac

If we follow that line of thought then possibly god's fear of man knowing the difference between right and wrong would be the realization that god can be wrong and imperfect.

It may make no more sense of God considering man's discernment of right and wrong than it would be for humans pondering ant's discernment of right and wrong. To God, both are tiny, finite creatures scurrying about in the dirt.

By the look of things, neither God nor Jesus care.

Ok.  Link worked for me this time.  Yes, all those things are in the Bible as described.  That doesn’t make them real…it’s just what the Bible says about it.  I’d like to offer one more alternative point to the list…

Satan doesn’t exist.  It’s make believe like all the other gods.

I hope your not paying for the Logos course.....

For that kind of money take courses at Penn or Chapel Hill.

Every 'good story' needs a hero and a villain.

It's just sucks that some of those stories get turned into religions people are willing to kill eachother for.
