I just saw that the students are being cleared to leave the school. The district will provide transportation if parents can't pick them up. Still nothing about the casualties. Hopefully they aren't bad.

CNN just said there are 2 who died.  They also said at least 4 were injured. They are saying local police arrived and had the shooter in custody quickly. Waiting for a press conference.

Now CNN is reporting 4 deceased on their broadcast. The police wouldn't give any casualties numbers in the press conference. They just said there were multiple injuries.

We had some nut here in Chicago smoke 4 people on the subway day before yesterday.  Looks totally random.  The suspect just blasted four homeless folks who were riding the train about 5am.  Three guys and a woman.

This had to be planned. The 911 call came in at 9:30 am if news is to be believed. School was only in session for an hour and a half and someone had a gun. I don't think it's been confirmed yet that the shooter was a student.

CNN is the only one saying such a high number of injured. FOX and News Nation are saying 9 have been taken to hospital. I sure hope CNN is wrong.

Now they said the school was one of five that got telephone threats this morning. It's also believed the shooter is only 14 yrs old.   He wasn't neutralized and is alive in custody. They're also saying 9 were taken to the hospital. Nothing about 30 injured. Hopefully that was wrong.

Press Conference happening now. The GBI said 4 are deceased, 2 students and 2 teachers. Only 9 injured and all in the hospital. The suspect surrendered to police within minutes of their arrival. They have named the suspect. He is 14 yr old and will be charged as an adult. Will post when it comes online. Schools will be closed for the rest of the week. It was the school's resource officer who first approached him. He was a student at the school. Colt Gray is his name.

"Colt Gray", 14.  They haven't mentioned whether he used a pistol or long gun so that makes me think it's likely a handgun.  CNN, especially, would have led with it if he'd used an AR-style weapon.

How did Colt Gray get that big gun in the school ? weren't all the students bags check out ?

You're probably right. They haven't mentioned the type of weapon at all or anything about it.

A girl who was in class with him said he was there and left. He came back and the teacher wouldn't let him back in. She said the classroom doors lock automatically and she thinks the teacher saw he had a gun. He went to the next classroom and she heard 10-15 shots in rapid fire. That doesn't sound like a pistol.
