pellinore Posted September 9 #1 Share Posted September 9 (edited) Nine years for expressing patriotism? What has happened to free speech under Starmer's rule? A far-Right thug who stole a police baton and helped set fire to a hotel filled with asylum seekers during a riot in Rotherham has been given the longest prison sentence yet. Thomas Birley, 27, pleaded guilty to arson with intent to endanger life after he stoked a fire in a bin by an entranceway to the Holiday Inn Express on August 4. It came amid a wave of riots across the country after the fatal stabbing of three young girls in a knife attack in Southport on July 29. The actions of Birley - who previously posted on social media 'I can't be racist because my wife has two black eyes' - and his fellow rioters caused those inside the hotel to fear for their lives, and staff were so afraid they barricaded themselves inside a panic room, the court heard. Rioter gets heaviest sentence yet as he is jailed for nine years for arson at Rotherham's Holiday Inn Express that was housing migrants | Daily Mail Online Edited September 9 by pellinore

pellinore Posted September 27 Author #7 Share Posted September 27 (edited) 4 years? A bit much, when the people who actually instigated it all have had their charges dropped. A 32-year-old who encouraged “mob violence” and was the first defendant in the UK to admit a charge of riot following nationwide disorder last month has been jailed for four years and four months. Kieran Usher, from Bramwell Road, Hendon, Sunderland, was in a group of around 20 yobs who hurled missiles at police during a night of trouble in the city on August 2, which left bystanders terrified.
