UM-Bot Posted September 18 #1 Share Posted September 18 The surprisingly clear image, which was captured over the city of Xiamen, has been circulating social media in recent days. https://www.unexplained-mysteries.com/news/380929/super-clear-metallic-disc-shaped-ufo-photographed-over-china 3 1
esoteric_toad Posted September 18 #2 Share Posted September 18 (edited) Once again, a city of over 5 million people and 2 photos (on this post, not sure if there are more on twitter but I do not go to twitter). That seems likely. Edited September 18 by esoteric_toad 3
Trelane Posted September 18 #3 Share Posted September 18 (edited) Nice looking picture. Exactly what I would want for proof. Crystal clear. Now let's have these photos analyzed. Investigate if there are more photos taken by other Chinese citizens. Interview the person who took the photos to gain more information regarding the sighting. The subject does not start and end with just a picture. Also, photos taken in China by a Chinese national posted on Mexican TV personality's Twitter account??? What's up with that? Was this a re -Tweet? Also, also I think he took the post down I can't seem to find it. Edited September 18 by Trelane 3

That seems likely. And presumably, not only did 4,999,999 people not see it (on a clear day) but it wasn't detected by radar either - or do the Chinese normally turn a blind eye to unknown aircraft flying over their cities? * It's either fake or a small, mundane, object * same argument for most other photos of UFOs (bearing in mind last year the USAF even shot down a small pico balloon because it was in US airspace and unidentified)

moonman Posted September 18 #6 Share Posted September 18 Could easily be a drone. If you look close you can kinda see the four prop outlets on the bottom.

It's possible it was originally posted up on a China-specific social media site. 2

iAlrakis Posted September 18 #11 Share Posted September 18 not convinced at all. when I play around with the images I get something with a light on top, I think. Doesn't fit with a normal reflection. And there's a hole in the silver band, right in the middle. Camera? As a 2nd thought. I think I can pretty much pull this of with a simple camera setup and throwing an ear cup from my headphones in the air.

You don't always get that quality images especially if the object it travelling very fast or at incredible speeds. I don't know if this is a legitimate picture and a legitimate story. Having discovered the radar we can pick up pretty much everything even when they move at incredible speeds.

The human factor is the most important even in science because it's humans who make the interpretations of evidence.

Earl.Of.Trumps Posted September 18 #19 Share Posted September 18 Phew. This is a good photo. OR... it's a deep fake. Notice you couldn't get the man's full name. Is that because he feared what the CCP would do?? And is that because the photo is fake or because the CCP censors UFO pics? I'm on the fence with this one. 2

The most important and characteristic feature of science is that it relies on data gathered based on verifiable evidence such as concrete factual observation. Other important features include being empirical, replicable, provisional, systematic, and objective. Now, does any of that work with your belief that ET is here flying around in UFOs? (Eyewitnesses testimony, pictures and wacky radar returns.) If your answer is No... then I rest my case. If Yes... then explain it to me. You don't seem to have an issue trying to smear scientists such Avi Loeb or Kaku because their worldview doesn't agree with yours. It doesn't make any difference though what your opinion is. 1

In fact I work inside most of the time. Seems to me a shiny metallic spheroid would definitely garner more attention than a helicopter and since almost everyone has a high definition camera it is unlikely it would come down to a single person with pics. My opinion of course. 2

It doesn't make any difference though what your opinion is. Avi Loeb is a hypocrite who in an interview scolded his fellow scientists claiming that they weren't "following the Scientific Method" and less than five minutes later claimed that his theories don't have to follow the rules of scientific discovery. Since you know little about science, you'll have no idea why this statement disqualified him as a legitimate scientist.
