the13bats Posted Monday at 08:50 AM #1 Share Posted Monday at 08:50 AM My laundry thread got this back into my thinking, I just turned 60 and since early childhood have from time to time noticed a very pleasant to me scent in the air, ive never been able to identify it, i even worked in a friends botanical in hopes of finding it but came up empty, i seem to have smelled it more in my younger days, last time i caught it was a few months ago at an Asian Buffett of all places, i thought someone was wearing it, but zero luck there, i never thought until lately it could be a perfume but it didnt have a synthetic smell to me. I have no idea why but at a very young age i started calling it "Kashmir" to my grandmother who would say she smelled it too yet she never nailed it, she named honeysuckle, magnolias, jasmine, she might have just been humoring me. To try to descrbe a scent and who knows if things smell the same to people, but this is what i would call a bit earthy, smooth slightly sweet like vanilla, amber, sandalwood scents found in nag champa blends.Maybe a hint of cedar or patchouli but not so pungent like those tend to be, The closest i came to replicating it was an amber cedar patchouli blend i created one off but it was only close to it.
Ell Posted Monday at 09:12 AM #2 Share Posted Monday at 09:12 AM Maybe it is the smell of the perfect mate: someone whose immune system is so radically different from yours that the combination of both would result in extremely disease resistant progeny.

I found it very weird i didnt find it at my friends botanical yet its repetitive for me, When i do smell either timing or location is off for trying to track it or it just vanishes as fast as i noticed it. Who knows perhaps it is as love and rockets said, all in my mind.

It's possible you were so persistent about you smelling something, that a few others started smelling it too, or just thought they did. Maybe you should try to remember what typical shapes or sounds were around when you started smelling whatever you smelled.

You know, i like different viewpoints trying to solve a mystery i will grind harder on it when im crashing out, i seem to get livid memory when im drifting off, For now, i cant think of any real shapes, last time i was at a asian Buffett it was busy and full of smells i was surprised i caught it then, another time i was flipping thru an old book but it wasnt the book, and once an old jewel box. No real connections I do think i subscribe color to numbers, letters and shapes, just didnt realize it, my DJ program allows color coded artists, titles etc, no one can make heads or tails out of my system but its fine with my brain, hum. AZDZ Posted Monday at 06:24 PM #10 Share Posted Monday at 06:24 PM Quote 2 Corinthians 2:15 But thanks be to God, who always leads us triumphantly as captives in Christ and through us spreads everywhere the fragrance of the knowledge of Him. 15For we are to God the sweet aroma of Christ among those who are being saved and those who are perishing. 16To the one, we are an odor of death and demise; to the other, a fragrance that brings life. 🤷♂️ Not a believer? Doesn't matter. We don't choose God, God chooses us.

Okay, then you have God produce the smell for me in the next 24 hours, Sure, if it happens it could be a coincidence but lets just see, or smell where that goes shall we.

When I was working, a lady had a perfume/cologne that I love so much that I had to ask her what it is. It is called Emeraude, made by Coty (launched in 1921). I copied which scents it contains, amber woody citrus balsamic vanilla sweet warm spicy powdery aromatic patchouli

I looked online said walgreens carries emeraude so i will find out soon, ty. Oh, you said you copied it, did you do like your own version with essential oils? Did you use an alcohol, oil orcwater base?
