Seems American intelligence believes Iran will launch between 240 and 250 ballistic missiles in two waves at Israel

Then it will be Israel's turn.

Israel has already vowed a harsh response to the attack.  It seems most people are expecting Israel will hit dozens to hundreds of targets across Iran

Watching this on breaking news now. It's been on for about a half hour. ABC is broadcasting live from Tel Aviv and some of the missiles are definitely getting through. The sky is full of them.

Israel doesn't intercept those missiles that land in open spaces, but I'm sure some are hitting soft targets.

You can see the flashes when a missile is intercepted. They said earlier that the US government thinks Iran is trying to launch a big enough attack to overwhelm Israel's defenses. There's just huge streams of missiles coming in.

Seems the IDF home command has given the signal that it is safe to leave bomb shelters so it seems the attack is over.

An Israeli airbase that was targeted in April was targeted again on this attack.  Full extent of the attack isn't clear yet

They just announced the all clear has been given. No mention of any damage or casualties.

They just said Israel is waiting to see if there is a second wave coming. They're showing the videos again and I definitely saw multiple explosions that were on the ground.

They just said there has been damage and waiting for Israel to report what it is and to what extent. None seem to be military installations but there has been areas hit. The live report is on the website now. And it just went off. Hopefully it will play as a regular video in a bit. ABC and CNN are estimating about 180 missiles were fired at Israel.

There's a live view of Jerusalem also that is still running.

There was a shooting attack in Tel Aviv before the missile attack started. The shooters were killed.

Several killed in mass shooting in Tel Aviv (bbc.com)

At least seven others were reported to have been injured, and several are in a critical condition.

Images posted on social media showed the gunman shooting at bystanders and injured people lying on the ground at a railway station in the Jaffa area.

Police said two attackers were "neutralised" and described the motive as "terror".

If too many overwhelm the ID system, there could be bad damage.  Iranians better hope that doesn't happen :(

I'm fairly certain that the amount of damage inflicted will have little to do with Israel's retaliation. The simple fact that Iran launched the missiles will be enough to cement Israel's resolve. I think Israel is tired of it and enough is enough.

Israel has already said there will be serious repercussions.

Iran is using hypersonic reentry vehicles on their missiles. This makes it harder to shoot down in the last stages of attack.

The damage IMO is immaterial for Israel. Israel has successfully provoked Iran into this action and now it will probably receive the all clear from the Biden administration to bomb Iran’s nuclear facilities. Something I believe Israel wanted to do for a long time but was held back

You may wish to research just who has been provoking who.
