UM-Bot Posted October 2 #1 Share Posted October 2 Back in 1976, Timothy Cleve Abbott suffered a cardiac arrest and had an experience that he would never forget. https://www.unexplained-mysteries.com/news/381339/near-death-experiences-changed-texas-mans-view-of-reality
papageorge1 Posted October 2 #2 Share Posted October 2 Quote "I believe once you have opened that window, or crack the door to what happens in the afterlife, you carry it with you as a marker of sorts, or you are able to be in touch with things that you can't quite understand," he said. I've noticed things like this claim again and again. My theory is that the NDE is a separation of the astral/soul body from the physical and once you have a strong one, it becomes easier to have separation and spiritual/psychic experiences in the future. Kind of like a mother that has had multiple babies having easier deliveries after the first.
Hawken Posted October 2 #3 Share Posted October 2 (edited) A lot of these people that have these experiences claim to be going down a dark tunnel or void towards a point of light. Edited October 2 by Hawken

I can''t remember where, but I read the medical examination for it once. It is like a chemical reaction of the brain at the possible end of the brain function.

Guyver Posted October 3 #9 Share Posted October 3 I had a near death experience, it happened when I was a child of fourteen and I still don’t understand it after all these years have gone by. I’ll be sixty this week.

I know it's a foreign concept to you, but it's called "LEARNING". You ask questions and hopefully, the answers supply you with information you did not have before. Strange, i know.

I'm not sure how I feel about these experiences because many of the reports have elements that go against Biblical belief. I'll stick to scripture. If the skeptics are correct, I'll never become aware of it. If my belief is correct, death will be a simple transition of consciousness from the physical body to the spiritual body.
