The Operation is being backed by the Indian Navy and the Indian Air Force, with INS Satpura and IAF jets carrying out the relief operation. While 10 tons of aid that includes dry ration, clothing and medicines left for Myanmar as part of the operation via INS Satpura, 35 tons of aid comprising of water purification items, water containers, blankets, kitchen utensils, solar lanterns were dispatched to Vietnam. Furthermore, 10 tons of aid consisting of genset (generator set), water purification items, hygiene supplies, mosquito nets, blankets and sleeping bags were sent off to Laos, Minister Jaishankar said. 1 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Across Thailand, 20 provinces are flooded, including nine in the northern region, where 8,625 households are affected according to the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation. Still Waters Posted October 7 #3 Share Posted October 7 Flash flooding kills three in northern Thailand Flash flooding in popular Thai tourist hotspot Chiang Mai has killed three people, a health official said Sunday, as visitors evacuated hotels through knee-high muddy water and shops closed in the city center. In the center of Chiang Mai, people waded through brown floodwaters in the night bazaar, and water flowed into the central train station, which has now been closed. Local media reported that thousands of bed-ridden elderly and children were in need of food and evacuation after the Ping River reached an historic high on Saturday night.
