The Puzzler Posted October 19 Author #82 Share Posted October 19 I’m not even talking about me…I’m saying my ancestor owned a Hotel (and yes, I still work in one, it’s what I was born to do).. Whiskey or peyote, it’s all the same. At least your ancestors, on one side at least, has inhabited their own country for a lot longer than 250 years, like mine. I rode and fixed fence, built barns, doctored cows, broke horses and harvested the stewardship forest. I was also a heavy rescue and forest firefighter. I still logged up until last year in the field with my men since last year even though I could of sat on my ass. Not bad for a short dude 😄 That’s awesome actually. The extent of my outdoor activities were recreational and mostly centered on the ocean. Boating, swimming, deep sea fishing and scuba diving. I probably would hurt myself trying to do something like logging or building barns. Massive respect for the fire fighting 👍 Edited October 19 by Antigonos

The Puzzler Posted October 19 Author #99 Share Posted October 19 (edited) https://www.simplywellbeing.com/insights/out-of-the-box/did-we-inherit-adhd-from-the-neanderthals/ Homo sapiens wrote the history books What if our ADHD traits come from Neanderthal genes? Neanderthals were not the brutal violent cavemen as depicted erroneously by Victorians – but were as intelligent, artistic and less aggressive than our predominantly Cro-Magnon ancestors. They were red-haired, fair skinned and were more peaceful. Neanderthals lived in matriarchal small tribes, buried their dead, were artistic and made tools and musical instruments like flutes. Might those of us with ADHD and ADD have inherited Neanderthal genes? Edited October 19 by The Puzzler
The Puzzler Posted October 19 Author #100 Share Posted October 19 (edited) Links with addiction US researchers reviewed 28,000 patients historical medical records and their biological samples. In Science, they describe how they matched the modern human genes in the database against a map of those groups of genes known to have been inherited from Neanderthals. Genes responsible for faster blood clotting and skin adaptations were found, but more importantly for an ADHD link, there is a higher chance of depression and (nicotine) addiction. t seems obvious to anyone (beside most ADHD medical specialists), that the neurotransmitters affected by ADHD, not only cause problems in modern society but equally have benefited and continue to benefit society in many critical ways. The strong desire to explore, set up businesses, entertain, invent, to rebel and to create has brought mankind a long way from those Victorian images of cave dwelling savages. Link above. But yes Trelane, I pulled it out of my behind. Edited October 19 by The Puzzler
