Why does Donald Trump tell such blatant lies?

Simple, he doesn't like the truth, and/or his cult doesn't.

I take that back, whatever he says IS truth to them, so they don't really count.

I knew a guy or two in my life very much like trump albeit they didnt have kult worshippers,

These guys lied like breathing after a while a person just assumed nothing they said was fully truthful,

I believe these type do it from being huge egomaniacs yet know they are losers pos, really have nothing to offer.

People lie when they think their truth is not good enough. They may just be insecure or  they may be right.

Perhaps Trump managed to convince himself that they really were eating the dogs and cats in Springfield. Or perhaps he thought to himself: “Plant the emotional image, that’s all you need for the faithful.”

That from the article.  They are reading too much into what trump thought.  I believe that trump never checked the veracity of the story nor cared.  It was a handy dandy outrageous (lie) talking point of opportunity that he knew a sector of his base would eat up (pun intended).  If it happened even once, and I'm sure that it did, then that's all the believers need once the overall rumor is debunked and it is demonstrated that this is not happening at any meaningful level.  They will always just point to the one instance and their hero's reputation is intact and they can tell themselves the liberal MSM is out to get trump so you can't believe negative stories about him.

I recall a saying that went to the effect of: "People don't repeat lies to make you distrust the lie, they repeat the lies to make you distrust everyone."

I think it's impossible to rationally look at media coverage of the man during his campaign and his presidency and not come to the conclusion that they were out to get him.  The coverage was so over the top negative that it was unprecedented.  There has never been anything remotely like it in our modern history.  He was an outsider that was not part of the DC "club" and wasn't selected by them.

His idiotic ramblings make their task much easier but at this point he represents the only option for stopping the insanity, true irrationality, of the agenda of the Left in America.  In short, against all odds and despite his flaws and all the negative media coverage, he could win this thing and then we'll see if the country can survive the reaction of the Left.  I think that the best case scenario is an energetic repeat of his first presidency, where he is hampered by ridiculous lawsuits and protests on every action he takes.  I don't like to even entertain what the worst case could be.

I completely agree.  I also think he is not presidential material.

Show me a more blatant lie in the history of politics than this campaign promise:

Quote
Joe Biden: If I'm elected, we're going to cure cancer

At a campaign rally, Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden told the crowd that if he is elected President, "we're going to cure cancer." CNN's Kate Bolduan presses Biden campaign co-chairman Rep. Cedric Richmond on Biden's promise.

Yes, deflect because you're unable to answer my question. Why are Democrats allowed to benefit from fanciful lies while Repubilcans get a running tally?

Simple: It obviously works. It riles up the liberals and energizes his base.

Task failed successfully.

You didn't ask me any ****ing question, you just deflected right off the bat playing whattabout. Swing and a miss. Yes, all politicians lie and make false promises, but not with every breath the way he does.

Maybe respond to the actual article and try to explain why he lies all day, every day about everything. Better yet, explain why you and your ilk eat his lies up like candy and suck his figurative nuts harder with every one he spews.

Good article

It's a good article if one is inclined to be convinced Donald Trump is Adolf Hitler as the author of the article implies. Trump's rhetoric concerning illegal immigration is in no way close to Hitlers and the Nazis rhetoric used to justify the persecution of the Jewish population. This kind of journalism is reckless and has already led to two attempted assassinations on Donald Trump in the past few months.

You mean that bastion of journalistic integrity?

It's a good article about big liars in general.  Yes it is calling out trump because either the author is "one of those" or because trump equals clicks.

Yeah, without a doubt Trump lies. He also speaks hyperbolic. He's always been like this because it sells. He sells himself probably better than anybody on the planet. He's also really good at selling other people, groups of people or businesses. This requires often time hyperbolic catch phrases. Embellishments. More often than not he does this to humor people. His humor is a dry, intelligent, timely humor. Probably the most hilarious aspect of it all is the media who pretend to fact check all these socalled lies when the majority of his hyperbole is intended to humor and troll the media into talking about the issues he wants discussed.

Danger? Danger is watching our middle class shrink by the day because of failed economic policies. Danger is allowing the entirety of South America to invade the country.

If you’re an American, you are about to vote for a woman who skipped the entire democratic process up till this point, and at the same time cry about a dictatorship? You can’t make this stuff up.

Ah, The Conversation - the uber left wing arm of the already left wing ABC. The article embarrassed itself by using the WaPo article alleging 30 thousand lies in its first sentence (this is the kind of article that can only be written about Donald Trump, no one would dare do the same for Kamala Harris or Joe Biden (and the ones that pretended to try were so inadequate for the task it was just laugable).

The Conversation is just proving it's a left wing mouthpiece, and I am ashamed that my tax dollars pay for this publication.

Here you go. Same one by Donald, with aids and Alzheimer's thrown in for good measure.

"We will push onward with new medical frontiers," Mr. Trump said. "We will come up with the cures to many, many problems, to many, many diseases including cancer and others. And we're getting closer all the time."
