UM-Bot Posted October 24 #1 Share Posted October 24 For years, peculiar craters have been inexplicably appearing across Russia's remote Yamal Peninsula. https://www.unexplained-mysteries.com/news/381951/has-the-mystery-of-the-yamal-craters-been-definitively-solved-at-last
Alex_Rogan Posted October 25 #2 Share Posted October 25 who didn't think it was methane? Now, think about the "craters" on the moon. Impact craters or craters from celestial off-gassing? I never believed they were impact craters. Makes no sense.
Chaldon Posted October 25 #3 Share Posted October 25 Implosion, not explosion. Nothing was expelled, it's all just fell down into the cavern.
Chaldon Posted October 25 #4 Share Posted October 25 There was a number of similar holes opened up in the US in the last years, one even right under someone's sofa during the evening TV show. Those are presumably caused by completely different processes but still linked to the global warming somehow. I didn't heard of such holes in the non-arctic Russia except for only one case in the April this year in the Rostov region. Quite interesting. Tyler from secureteam10 repeatedly suggested that the holes in the US can be linked to the unexplained loud noises coming from the underground, like if someone's digging tunnels there.
dragon1440 Posted October 25 #5 Share Posted October 25 I thought a hole opening under your couch in the US was something only people in Springfield worried about!

You really gotta watch out for them during the month of May..... that's "sinkhole-de-mayo" season. (kidding. I hope someone gets the joke)
Dejarma Posted October 27 #8 Share Posted October 27 I'm assuming it hasn't been definitively solved because the topic header is a question, therefore i feel no need to read the article 😉

I saw a NOVA episode about methane which concluded by saying releases of the gas is already so bad worldwide that our efforts to curb GW are already useless. :-{

No wonder the clouds seem so much lower now. There's no point in pointing fingers at this point. Just live and love as boldly as possible. Just rumors... except for the previous two sentences.
