Why ghosts wear clothes or white sheets instead of appearing in the nude

What about those who die in the bath or die whilst sleeping naked?  Surely they would come back naked.

When spirits are considered residual they appear exactly as the original event happened. A snapshot of energy. With intelligent spirits its a bit different. When an intelligent spirit manifests itself one of two things usually occur. The most common is spontanious manifestation where the spirit manipulates its own energy into the form most remembered within its energy memory or code. This is amost a hybrid state of residual and intelligent existence for spirit. 

When a spirit makes a choice, is called upon to, or maipulated into manifesting a connectiion is formed and what your seeing is transmitted to you from the spirit in what likeness or state of being they choose or desire for you to see.

typically the full bodied apparritions are residual and the energy or orb capyures tend to be most intelligent.

Spirits of different levels of conciousness or being interact with our physical world constantly. Which means they may see us in some pretty embarrassing ways. With the prude attitude and being ashamed of nudity its a wonder we arent all freaked out. ROFLMAO.
