There's a lovely hymn to him that's recorded in Ani's "book of the dead" A Hymn of Praise to Ra when he riseth in the eastern part of heaven. Those who are in his train rejoice, and lo! Osiris Ani, victorious, saith: “Hail, thou Disk, thou lord of rays, who risest on the horizon day by day! Shine thou with thy beams of light upon the face of Osiris Ani, who is victorious; for he singeth hymns of praise unto thee at dawn, and he maketh thee to set at eventide with words of adoration. May the soul of Osiris Ani, the triumphant one, come forth with thee into heaven, may he go forth in the Mātet boat. May he come into port in the Sektet boat, and may he cleave his path among the never-resting stars in the heavens.” There's a number of works like this that make it clear he's a solar deity and associated with the sun. Plus, you can only see the Great Ring if you've got something like the James West Space Telescope. Edited October 29 by Kenemet

If the Giant Arc were visible in the night sky it would form an arc occupying as much space as 20 full moons, or 10 degrees on the sky. Meaning: it isn't visible with the naked eye. 2
lion88 Posted November 2 #4 Share Posted November 2 I’ve heard that the Big Ring and the Giant Arc are linked to Ra and his boat, representing the sun’s journey.

There's all sorts of wild speculation by people who don't actually stop and research. What you read was wild speculation by someone who pretended that anything they made up MUST be true. The ancient Egyptians couldn't see them. WE can't see them without a space telescope. And the Big Ring and Giant Arc can only be seen in the night sky, when the sun is NOT out. Ra is a sun god. AZDZ Posted November 5 #6 Share Posted November 5 Those galaxies making up the shapes are invisible to the naked eye. So in order for the Egyptians to know about them. . . Well, I ain't saying it was aliens but. . . 😁
