The sad part is that this latest restriction is far from being the last.

But their government won't last. They don't know how to run a country and nobody really wants to be their allies.

They've managed to entrench themselves and although they are officially isolated, they appear to have enough interactions with a small handful of countries (such as China and Russia) to inch toward normalization. Furthermore, there does not appear to be any opposition with sufficient domestic or foreign support to topple them. Some observers give the regime five years max before it collapses, but I just can't see it happening, unless more is done to push it in that direction. Once that does happen, if it happens, significant deradicalization will need to take place, and that could take years. All in all, it's an absolute living hell, and it's women and girls who are suffering most.

Read a while back they found a large lithium deposit in Afghanistan if I'm remembering correctly...so you may be right.

Some countries will keep the regime propped up just to exploit them.

And first in line is China.

Well here is some good news.

https://bigthink.com/hard-science/us-largest-known-lithium-deposit-world/

McDermitt Caldera, straddling the border of Oregon and Nevada, may hold 20 to 40 million metric tons of extractable lithium, which would make it the largest known lithium deposit in the world. The caldera was the site of a massive volcanic eruption roughly 16 million years ago, which spewed lithium-rich magma.Sep 14, 2023

I think I said something like that about Cuba and NKorea about thirty years ago. "Any day now!"

I wonder what exactly caused those guys to hate women that much.

I'll bet they treat their goats lots more 'friendly'...

What kills me is the support from students in university and the LGBTQ...communities.  they have no clue what these countries would do to them if they lived in the ME.  Anyone not straight is killed,  and eonen have no rights.  How can they support them?

I suspect they're confusing the Taliban with Hamas.

And protesting against Israel as support for Hamas but let's not open that can of worms.

How is this good news.

Maybe I don't fully understand the reasoning behind thinking it is good news, (other than it is an important find to the battery business) but the last thing I want for that regime is to be made filthy stinking rich from selling it worldwide.

He meant we recently discovered a large deposit here in the US, which makes any future need from Afghanistan obsolete ;)

What regime?  Its going to be global elites who own mining corporations that get filthy stinking rich.  And part of the good news is that with another big deposit competing, the Taliban resource is much less valuable.

HI Rob

If women can't hear other women's voices then they will talk their men's ears off, seems like some solid critical thinking went into this.
