Iran preparing to strike Israel from Iraqi territory, Khamenei orders preparations

Israeli intelligence suggests Iran is preparing to attack Israel from Iraqi territory in the coming days, possibly before the US presidential election on Nov. 5, Axios reported on Thursday, citing two unidentified Israeli sources.

The attack is expected to be carried out from Iraq using a large number of drones and ballistic missiles, the Axios report added. The report said that carrying out the attack through pro-Iran militias in Iraq could be an attempt by Tehran to avoid another Israeli attack against strategic targets in Iran.

Later on Thursday, a New York Times report, citing three Iranian sources, said that Ayatollah Ali Khamenei had already on Monday, ordered Iran's Supreme National Security Council to prepare to strike Israel.

I'm guessing if they do so from Iraqi territory, even with the entire world knowing who is funding the attacks,some stupid "International laws" would/will prevent Israel from attacking Iran directly or bring more International condemnation!

I hope that's not the case.  Israel cannot base its actions on world opinion as much as it has prior to 10/7.  Our nation is obviously working on behalf of raising Iran to a co-hegemon in the region and Israel cannot allow that without risking annihilation.  Iran cannot be allowed to have nukes or every single time a ballistic missile is launched, it could mean the end of the nation.

Israel has identified targets in Iraq it will strike if Iran-backed militia continue to attack Israel from there, and has warned Baghdad, the London-based Saudi Elaph news site reports.

Unnamed officials apparently tell the outlet that satellites have monitored Tehran working to transfer ballistic missiles and related equipment from Iran to Iraqi territory, with the presumed goal of using them in an expected upcoming attack on Israel.

The report says Israel is monitoring and identifying targets belonging to the Iran-backed militias, as well as Iraqi state targets, and has warned Baghdad that it must rein in the militias and stop them from using its territory to launch attacks.

I could possibly see a 60 day ceasefire in Lebanon,Hamas still demanding a complete withdrawal I do not see happening.

I just read a report where DC has told Tehran that if they attack again there will be no restraint on Israel by the US this time.  Iraq's leaders have been warned by Israel that Iraq will pay a price if Iran uses their territory to attack Israel.
