I'll tell you this, if I was a Republican voter, I'd be asking myself some serious questions as to why racists flock to my party. Then I'd ask some serious questions about myself.

This isn't isolated. They did the same type of thing with Obama, lynching life sized dolls and everything.

This^ is precisely what the authorities involved DID commit to.  Of course, it won't matter to those who want to use it for the campaign anymore than it worked against Biden calling millions of Americans GARBAGE.  It's a campaign.  There is no civility on either side any longer.  Hell, over half the nation is expecting chaos after the vote.  This stupidity is small ball compared to that.

Mate, you live in Alabama and try to act like racism barely exists. When you were in school, your neighbours were still stringing up black men or dragging them with their cars.

You can actually overlay a US map of the Confederate states with those who not too long ago voted against Jim Crow and it matches perfectly.

There's a reason racists vote Republican and a reason racist Republican politicians are elected.

Luckily your boomer generation will be off to pasture soon and the US can finally begin to move on. Although, I'm pretty sure you'll have ****ed up a good percentage of your kids.

You do realize the racist in the south were SOUTHERN DEMOCRATS?   The Klan was basically an extension of the Democrat party.   And no, the parties did not magically switch...

Thinking about it. The Quakers of my grandparents generation were all Eisenhower Republicans then there was a switch in the 1960s and I think JFK was involved but suddenly my mother's generation were Democrats.

Putting a representation of an African American in chains or hanging them by rope is a completely different thing altogether from simply burning an effigy of a white man.
