pellinore Posted November 8 #1 Share Posted November 8 (edited) 57% of Britons are unhappy about Trump’s victory, with 55% saying it will be bad for the UK After months of campaigning, Donald Trump has won the 2024 US presidential election, defeating Democratic candidate Kamala Harris and becoming only the second president in US history to serve non-consecutive terms. But while it might be the decision of American voters, it is far from what the British public wanted – last week, YouGov found that only one in six Britons (16%) wanted a Trump victory, compared to six in ten (61%) who wanted Harris to become America’s first woman president. Because of this, it is unsurprising that reaction in the UK to Trump’s victory has largely been negative. Just 20% of Britons say they feel happy about the result, compared to 57% who say they are unhappy, including 45% who are ‘very unhappy’. How have Britons reacted to Donald Trump’s 2024 victory? | YouGov Edited November 8 by pellinore
itsnotoutthere Posted November 8 #2 Share Posted November 8 (edited) 57% of 4800 (2736) Britons asked are unhappy about Trump’s victory. There, fixed the first line for you. After Tuesday we can all see how unreliable polls are. Edited November 8 by itsnotoutthere 1

How have Britons reacted to Donald Trump’s 2024 victory? | YouGov I will counter this by pointing out that according to YouGov two-thirds of the surveyed UK public backed Harris: Who do Britons want to win the 2024 US presidential election? | YouGov Hence, amongst the survey completers of YouGov, there is a strong lefty bias. With the US in mind, the top performing polling organisation in 2016, 2020, and 2024, is Atlas Intel. In fact, this election was their most precise ever, they even got the number of seats right. It just shows how hard it is to find neutral and unbiased polls. There is the gauntlet to run of the polling organisations being biased combined with those contributing their opinions not being a true cross sectional representation of the public.

In matters not a jot whether the public are Lefty or not. It is a survey. If polls consistently point one way (like every poll showing the UK public wanting to reverse Brexit) it is not because of faulty polls. It is just the result of the polls. 1

And unless they were a moron- oh, welcome back stevewinn, right on cue! 1

Clearly your looking in the wrong direction, the Dear leader in the Chinese peoples Republic Xi Jinping, AKA the communist leader of the one party state. i guess you have no problem with XI making China "great again" and thus turning them into worlds super power. - If Trump makes America Great again and in doing so retains its status as a super power then i think we should be encouraging Trump and thanking that in a world where China is rising. Bit like Joey Essex become our PM (except he's considerably more articulate and undoubtedly more intelligent ) I don't think many people are opposed to Trump becoming US president for political reasons.

I agree with you, Joey Essex is more articulate and intelligent than Starmer. Edited November 9 by itsnotoutthere
