Mike Johnson promises ‘massive’ healthcare changes if Trump wins

“No Obamacare,” Johnson replied, according to NBC News. “The ACA is so deeply ingrained, we need massive reform to make this work and we got a lot of ideas on how to do that.”

What did you want to discuss?  This piece was a week prior to the election.  I don't think either side has a viable plan to make access to healthcare truly affordable.

It’s kinda obvious it’s a discussion on people that voted themselves poor by voting Trump. Top republicans are gonna go after ObamaCare and bend to big pharma.

The concept of ‘Red States’ fascinates me. All these poorer states that voted Trump will now face the full might of a weaponised Trump administration empowered with the Oval Office, the Judiciary and both houses.

Republicans had all 3 chambers his first 2 years of his first term,I guess people figured they've seen it before.

Well here is a question, what does Elon care about affordable health care? How much power will he have?

You are kind of out of the loop of reality.  No one is going to do anything about Healthcare.  Not Trump, not Obama...no one.  Status Quo dictates around Social Security and Medicare and no one is ever going to do anything.  Fear is the great mind killer.  Don't be afraid bro!  It's all okay...really.

Okay so you say so. Yet we have one of the biggest republican czars saying they will. So who do I believe?

Don't believe.  You don't know.  Be good with that.  Why do you need to believe anything?  I will tell you what I know.  I know that Obama tried to bring about Single Payer Healthcare...and got his bill passed.  Remember Nancy Pelosi?  We have to pass the bill to find out what's in it.  Then Trump came along and dismantled the whole thing.  Nothing really changed.  People have the same unaffordable healthcare they always have.  The only one's in this country who have some semblance of affordable health care are the indigent and the elderly.  It will never change.

What I believe in is irrelevant. What I can prove is through this article that the republicans wanna cut Obamacare and Medicare.

Don’t think you can say that if they do start cutting Obamacare and Medicare “nothing will happen” it’s illogical to suggest that

I think - this issue aside - that in general, his admin is not going to be hindered by as many RINOs trying to subvert his agenda because this time he has a much better grasp of what DC is like and how it works.  Those Rs that work against him will be cutting their own careers off.  As for "fixing" healthcare, the government is incapable of causing it to function better.  All DC can do is implement controls and having worked a career within this system, I can guarantee the government will increase costs and decrease quality.

My healthcare coverage cost tripled under Obama care. And my employer now only offers a plan with huge deductibles. That insurance company made over 30 billion dollars the last quarter.

We definitely need to go back to the drawing board.

You can set the bar of 'proof' as low as you want.  It doesn't change the actual definition of the word. An article doesn't prove anything...it is hearsay and nothing more ...but you believe the hearsay.  That is relevant.  Most, if not all belief is founded in fear.  And both parties are masters at manipulating those fears into votes and dollars.

...and The Media are masters at manipulating fear as well.

Through honest deep introspection we can discover our own fears.

It would be good if they go after big pharma, that would make medicines more affordable.   And it isn't "Obambacare" it is the un-Affordable care act.  It needs some reworking to get the insurance companies back in line.   It is un-affordable becacuse of the insurance companies that own the congress people who removed the clause from this ancient constantly re-worked legislation that forbids the companies to raise the rates because of the legislation.  That is the only reason it passed because most of the "representatives" represent the big money instead The People.   Repealing it completely will not solve anything.

OT, but I personally think Elon Muskrat is only really interested in 3 things:

1.  Being the richest person on the planet
2.  Ensuring everyone worships him as a god
3.  Making even more money

He cares about poor people in much the same way a poor person cares about ants

He also cares about colonizing Mars and hooking everyone up with Neurolink cyber implants and global satellite internet.

Personally, I am for those ideas.  My only real turn off is that Elon does seem to treat regular people and his workers as disposable resources/NPCs.   I know I should be one of the last people to talk as I value people on what they contribute as opposed to where they are born and thus think many of our citizens have less value than a blank slate migrant.  But I think Musk takes my values to the next level.  I don't think low value people should just be discarded.

A part of our ‘checks and balances’ are the mid-term elections, the next one being in 2026. Congressmen/Congresswomen that vote against the best interests of their constituents risk losing their seats in Congress, which serves to balance out their loyalty to whoever sits in the Oval Office.

The first step is to prohibit drug advertisements to the general public. That’s the way the news media is pay off not to be criticized.

Whatever Congress decides to do it has to be that they have the same healthcare as everyone else and not like last time where they exempted themselves and a myriad of other organizations.

Let them wait 6 months for an appointment.  imagine Medicare for all that covers the 20,000,000 illegals.

Oh, good lord!  Not this again.   Immigrants that enter the country illegal do NOT get benefits of any type unless they get sent to jail in Texas.   Then they get the benefit of being protected from I.C.E. and deportation, because very few of them break their parole when they get out, as opposed to citizens that continue on their paths of breaking the law.

I understand that. I’m talking hypothetically. Many want Medicare for all, if we offer it to anybody and everybody the que is libel to get long.

It would never be offered to anybody and everybody.   It would work similar to Canada I hope, where you have to be a citizen or legal immigrant.   You are making up boogy men to be afraid of.   It should have happened way back when Nixon was president but insurance companies and pharmacuetical companies would have lost money so it never passed as many times as it was presented and voted on over the last 40 years.   We live in a corporate democracy where money rules, not people.
