HandsomeGorilla Posted November 9 #2 Share Posted November 9 (edited) He was an amazing guy, a real national treasure. He's guilty of nurturing my fascination with astronomy and astrophysics from single digit age. I have a good friend who became an astrophysicist thanks to Sagan. Not only was he a bonafide genius, but a very wise man, as well. Demon Haunted World is an incredible read. "One of the saddest lessons of history is this: If we’ve been bamboozled long enough, we tend to reject any evidence of the bamboozle. We’re no longer interested in finding out the truth. The bamboozle has captured us. It’s simply too painful to acknowledge, even to ourselves, that we’ve been taken. Once you give a charlatan power over you, you almost never get it back." Matter of fact, I'm going to dust off my copy; haven't read it in a while. Edited November 9 by HandsomeGorilla
Ell Posted November 11 #3 Share Posted November 11 He was married to Lynn Margulis, who in my opinion ought to have been awarded a Nobel Prize.
