Defense Minister Katz: Time is right to target Iran's nuclear program

Late Monday night, incoming Defense Minister Israel Katz said that the diplomatic, operational, and tactical situation for attacking Iran's nuclear program has never been as doable, realistic, and likely as it is now.

Katz noted how two previous Israeli strikes on Iran this year - which were actually counter-attacks following massive attacks by Tehran on the Jewish state on April 13-14 and October 1 - have made it clear how superior the Israeli Air Force is to even the most advanced aspects of the Islamic Republic's air defense systems.

"There is an opportunity to achieve the most important goal - to thwart and remove the threat of destruction hanging over the State of Israel...Today, there is a broad national and defense establishment consensus that we need to thwart the Iranian nuclear program, and there is an understanding that this is doable - not only on the security front, but also on the diplomatic front," said Katz.

There will never be a better time, IMO.  Hopefully Trump will go along with sending in the B-2s with the 30K lb. massive ordnance penetrators to reach the deeply buried sites.  That kind of damage might set back their program long enough to follow on with arming and training a resistance inside the country to remove that regime for good.  Ultimately, that's the only way to remove that threat.

Those here who will howl about it not being America's business and that regime change doesn't work out well for us, should also make their case for what happens if that regime isn't removed.  No nation would be required to put troops in place on Iranian soil to fight Iran.  There are huge numbers of Iranians who would take care of that in their own self interest.

I have a feeling we're going to wait until Trump is sworn in. Earlier today Netanyahu, in a speech to Iranians, hinted that if the Iranian regime attacked us once again, their oil fields will be our next targets.

'Help us,' UN nuclear watchdog chief tells Iran ahead of visit

UN atomic watchdog chief Rafael Grossi appealed to Iran's leadership on Tuesday to take steps to resolve longstanding issues with his agency a day before he arrives in the Iranian capital for crunch talks over its nuclear program.

The International Atomic Energy Agency head has for months sought progress with Iran on issues including a push for more monitoring cooperation at nuclear sites and an explanation of uranium traces found at undeclared sites.

Useless UN nuclear watchdog. Hopefully the Trump administration will apply maximum pressure, although I think it would be more expedient if we did something about it.
