President-elect Donald Trump announced Tuesday that he has nominated former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee to serve as United States ambassador to Israel. “Mike has been a great public servant, Governor, and Leader in Faith for many years. He loves Israel, and the people of Israel, and likewise, the people of Israel love him. Mike will work tirelessly to bring about Peace in the Middle East!” Trump said in a statement.

Uh oh... a dreaded "Christian Zionist"   Gov. Huckabee is perfect for that position.  Israel will have no better friend and advocate than he will be.

I also liked Trump's pick for UN Ambassador, for obvious reasons.

She was amazing during the university hearings:

I like the Rubio pick as well...

I thought Rubio should at bare minimum have been his VP,him or Haley,I think Haley's attacks on him were a little to recent for his ego though lol

I don't know anything about Marc Rubio, Trump's pick for Secretary of State, other than this video:

Trump has just announced that Jewish real estate investor Steven Witkoff is his pick as special envoy to the Middle East. He doesn't have any diplomatic experience, but as the article mentions, neither did Jared Kushner.

I've never heard of this person. Does anyone here know anything about him?

I find the Evangelical Christian support for Israel interesting. Correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't they anticipating a war to end all wars which will ultimately result in a world that is entirely Christian? Jews, because we will refuse to accept Jesus as our saviour, will not survive in the end.

My theory is that Haley will be the next Republican nominee and there was a decision in the party to leave her free to be her own person (and free of any negativity that may be attached to trump) and start campaigning early.

Interesting thought. I think she would have been a much better VP pick than Vance.

Do you really think the Republicans would put Hayley forward? Is her base of voters and donors strong enough?

That's a common misperception.  Yes, there will be a final confrontation between good and evil and the Messiah (Jesus) will return and will save His people in Israel.  That war will be horrific and roughly 2/3 of all humanity will be lost.  It isn't the fault of the Creator.  It is a result of human actions and Christ will return at a point where if He delayed any longer, "no flesh would be left alive".

The belief of CZs is that Jews in the land will accept Him as messiah when He returns.  In fact they will look on Him and say "Baruch Haba B'shem Adonai".  So, rather than saying they must convert and believe in Him as savior, they will willingly do so.  Many people who read this like to make the case that CZs want most of the Jews in Israel to be annihilated so it will bring Christ back.  That is in NO WAY what CZs believe.  We accept scripture as it is written and believe our stance regarding Israel and all its citizens is to support them as we are told:

Genesis 12:3: God speaking:

"I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you.”

I don't think she'd ever be acceptable to him.  His ego would never allow that, IMO.

I was thinking Claira meant the next election cycle...I could be wrong though.

Whew, that's a relief. I appreciate the explanation, thanks.

I was and was just about to clarify, thanks. I'm not convinced that she's a strong Presidential candidate in the eyes of many Republicans.

She is actually pretty solid, even moreso if Rubio or someone else in the current cabinet Trump has built becomes a surprise running mate.

Trump has nominated Fox News host and Army veteran Pete Hegseth to serve as his defense secretary. Another person I know absolutely nothing about, but from what the article says, he's an evangelical and pro-Israel. They say people are policy, so this is another good sign for Israel.

He's one of those I'd label a bit "head scratching" for some,as I thought Tulsi may have gotten that position but...

Sometimes just got to give new blood a chance in politics,if he's not up to it,he'll be replaced.

I was hoping he'd place her in a position like SecDef.  I only know a little about her background but she seems to be a straight shooter and very capable as well as patriotic.  I'd have supported her as a VP choice.
