When you try to enforce 7th century ‘Practices’ in the 21st Century without understanding the role ‘Context’ played then all hell breaks loose, literally. Instead of blindly following or rejecting the ‘Practices’, its useful to discern and find out what aspects of the Practice form the ‘Context’ and check if those aspects are still applicable in current Context and what aspects form the ‘Principle’ behind that practice.

While I agree with the analysis, this means an awful lot of those tunnels have become overly dark in the last few years.  Noticeably, palpably dark and angry.  I wish someone could figure out why it has happened.  Maybe it's a natural consequence of the hive mind turning in on itself.

You don't think the overly dark outlook has anything to do with a deteriorating economy, deteriorating society, threats of wars, threats of totalitarianism, the threat of bodily autonomy being taken away, the threat of privacy and freedom of speech being taken away and having the governments around teh world admit that we are nothing to them but walking ATM machines so they can siphon away our personal wealth and then basically tell us we have an obligation to have more kids so there will be more tax payers and cannon fodder has anything to do with that, do you?

No point in being snarky.  No, I think all the things you listed are the result of constant exposure to media/social media that is driven by who can get the most eyeballs on their content.  I honestly believe it is being animated by both a profit motive and an agenda that is not being admitted.  IOW, you listed symptons.  They flowed from catalysts that we've never experienced at this level, before.  That's my opinion.  You're welcome to yours.
