UM-Bot Posted June 3, 2003 #1 Share Posted June 3, 2003 Researchers in Britain said on Monday they had developed a new type of adhesive based on the uniquely sticky feet of geckos. And yes, some day people may be able to use it to climb walls. The lithe little lizards can climb glass ceilings and perch happily for hours on the smoothest walls. Late last year, U.S. researchers reported they had found that tiny little hairs and not any kind of chemical glue help the animals cling so well. Nancy Posted June 5, 2003 #2 Share Posted June 5, 2003 As one who speaks from PERSONAL experience, Geckos have the undaunted ability to STICK anywhere, including one's underware. The "key" is to ascertain the real possibility that he/she is indeed inside his/her pants/panties PRIOR to sitting down. Geckos are NOT fond of being sat upon....... they NEVER let go! Whew........ Nancy Posted June 11, 2003 #15 Share Posted June 11, 2003 Is there really any need for such a product? Since the article didn't to into a great deal of detail, these are only uneducated guesses.. Rescue operations? Someone falls down a canyon/cliff in a rather inaccessible area and First Responders may benefit. Construction in Space?
