Luca-Rose Elsie-Rae mum Posted January 1 #1 Share Posted January 1 Not sure if this belongs here pretty sure there’s a logical answer I can’t find. I’ve on off had taste of cig ash in mouth n nose I’ve never smoked. It’s been for an over a month now. It’s identical to when someone smokes next to you, however no one in house smokes, haven’t had smokers here when it’s happened, air con filter is clean because has to be, no gas other than bbq outside plus that’s a different smell. This is cig smell and in house only, smelt it lounge room n can n my room. Dads checked wiring does yearly for safety ofcourse. House is semidetached single storey next door both sides don’t smoke & are moving out. At first was only myself smelling it now Van aka partner for those who don’t know has smelt it once. Van ex smoker (4 years ago quit) smelt it Sat night. Sunday night smelt type of perfume I wear hours after it’d been sprayed. Van last night smelt it wasn’t on me. Also at the times no one is outside (they’d need to be close to front door to smell) so not randoms on street, only know thanks to security cameras. Monday morning before spraying anything not even deodorant vanilla so strong in lounge room. The kids don’t have access to sprays etc they’re 5 years old & 3 years old now so def not them smoking or anything. NO ONE with those scents here, kids don’t have anything vanilla scented and I’m only adult woman here. No incense or candles or air fresheners going, none of the cleaning products smell like it either. We don’t have thermostat or anything either.
Sir Wearer of Hats Posted January 1 #2 Share Posted January 1 If it wasn’t for Van smelling it I’d say “see a GP”. but fir a “left field” answer - clean out your nose hairs. I had similar issues a while back and it cleared up after I trimmed my nose hairs (my best guess at the time was somehow the hairs had picked up the scent of an ex (who was was a heavy smoker, and wasn’t my ex st the time) and wouldn’t let it go),

Def not nose hair thing because I sneeze a lot naturally (nasal problems). When Van did smoke it was out the back only no smoking in house allowed. Only reason I know no one’s been here is Vans a home body he’d say if anyone was here while I was out. But the smell has been right next to me. New clothes get washed before wearing to mostly cause dye etc can be irritating. No bon fire etc way too hot for it

Ell Posted January 1 #5 Share Posted January 1 (edited) Maybe you have an intruder living in a cupboard? Another option: maybe part of you is awake when you sleep and that part of your mind has some cigarettes hidden away and smokes when the you part of your mind sleeps. So: sleepwalking? Or it is Van who smokes. When sleepwalking? Edited January 1 by Ell

I missed a good chunk of the previous 4 years on here before 2024,I do remember you announcing your first little one on here...WOW now 2 nearing school age,how fast time goes bye! I’ve missed a lot of the past two years here so completely understand. It’s flown by she’s done preschool & her first year at school she loved it has been asking to go back but doesn’t start til Jan 28th. Elsie-Rae starts preschool same day as school goes back, she’s going with some of the sibblings of kids Luca-Rose went to preschool with so knows them

At least you you've checked that off the list.

I go logic first as much as possible, know first hand symptoms of things can present differently to how they’re typically known. Found that out first hand with upper muscle blood clot in leg, that presented as pulled muscle with a lump but go it checked when it didn’t stop.

If I wanted attention that badly there’s Reddit, TikTok, Facebook etc. I’m not nor have I ever been an attention seeking person, I even said I was looking for logical reasons attention seeking would be jump straight to oh it’s paranormal.

The other poster who started this thread really doesn't have a history of attention seeking either,so let's just calm down a bit, might come to some simple rational explanation. Strange things do happen in life,It would be nice if I could explain everything I've ever experienced...

I was asking hey any one have any logical answers cause I’m stumped. I gave clear facts no thing I can’t prove & as Crimson King said I’ve never been an attention seeker. As I said long time member took break after having babies who did need me 24/7 they’re now old enough to independent play (currently are in next room having chocolate & drawing) you can easily go to my profile look at my post & comment history I’m a pretty boring person.
