Steve Bannon condemns Elon Musk as ‘racist’ and ‘truly evil’

In an escalation of discontent among the highest-profile far-right followers of Donald Trump, his former adviser Steve Bannon has called Trump’s newest favorite, Elon Musk, “racist” and a “truly evil guy”, pledging to “take this guy down” and kick him out of the Maga movement.

In an interview with the Corriere della Sera newspaper in Italy, excerpts of which were published this weekend by Breitbart, Bannon criticised Musk’s embrace of some forms of immigration and vowed to ensure that Musk does not have top-level access to the White House.

“He is a truly evil guy, a very bad guy. I made it my personal thing to take this guy down,” Bannon said. “Before, because he put money in, I was prepared to tolerate it – I’m not prepared to tolerate it any more.”

He added: “I will have Elon Musk run out of here by inauguration day”, which falls on 20 January. “He will not have full access to the White House. He will be like any other person.”

I don't think he can do it.

He doesn't have enough charm to overwhelm $416 billion.

Last time, the coinage of the realm was influence, so Steve (with his access) had a lot of power.  Elon could buy things in Steve's sphere of influence and basically overwhelm him.

I think that Steve can only win if he can get Zuckerberg and Bezos as allies (which I don't think he can do) and distract Musk into getting into competition with them.  That takes Musk's attention off being a shadow president and frees things up so that Steve can try for his own influence.

However... a wild card in there is Trump's son Baron.  Trump relies on family.  Don Junior and Eric don't have the influence on their dad that Ivanka did, but Baron might.  Dunno.

I don't think Steve will find allies in Zuckerberg or Bezos.  I know it sounds just so CT, but I think a lot  of Trump cabinet and advisor types are in it together. The tech-bros and billionaire elites have found a business man to deal with in Donald Trump.  Everything is for sale.  Structure and favorable regulations can be incredibly fertile ground for fortune growth. The opportunities for privatizing and further tax cuts  must make them giddy.  I think a number of like minded people have found themselves in a position to tap the American economy pretty close to the source if they can pull it off.

Its probably going to cost us.

He's planning to get him down before he can influence govt.

President-elect Trump’s former adviser Steve Bannon has vowed to “take down” tech billionaire Elon Musk, calling him “truly evil.”

In an interview with Italian newspaper Corriere della Sera, as highlighted by Mediaite, Bannon sharply criticized Musk, who was tapped by Trump to co-lead the “Department of Government Efficiency.”

“I will have Elon Musk run out of here by Inauguration Day,” Bannon said. “He is a truly evil guy, a very bad guy. I made it my personal thing to take this guy down.”

Money rules this planet.

Guys like Musk can get away with anything.

Maybe not. All he has is wealth, not intelligence or good judgement.

Bannon was one of the names frequently cited in the other discussion we had (you even mention him yourself). Why is it weird to you that extremists like Bannon don't agree with Trump? You know,  the guy who lied about school massacres. Trump got 77 million votes, the vast majority of them don't agree with Bannon either.

But I don't know why you think it's "getting stronger" because of this. Does Steve Bannon represent a different demographic than the one he represented last time his name was brought up?

It will cost us.

I don't think they're necessarily "in it together" but their goals (enriching themselves, fame) are similar.  This will mean NOT working with anyone who isn't MAGA (so we'll have a stalled government) and will mean that money will speak louder than any other force in this administration.

Some of the policies suggested by Musk just *happen* to make things better for Tesla and Space X (holy coincidence, Batman!  Who could have imagined that?)

Running a government like a business is a VERY bad idea.

I think you're confusing Steve Bannon with Alex Jones.

Yes, I don't think of them as a secret cabal, just folks with similar interests and tastes, like a book club.  Like  hornets to honey, they have been drawn to the For Sale sign Trump has put in the White House window.

Citizens who want to run the government like a business do not realize they and all their rights and benefits are the waste that the managers want to cut.

@Kenemet is right, that is Alex Jones you are talking about. And it's not weird to me Bannon is going after Musk, I'm loving it!  If you haven't figure this out by now, let me enlighten you, Bannon is one of the leaders in Trump's true hardcore base MAGA and has many followers. Bannon went to jail for Trump to keep his mouth shut from congress. And let me enlighten you again, all this is a sign of changing, changing into the bottom versus the top now and Musk is getting pushed out of Trump's MAGA. Watch and learn. :lol:

I disagree. Steve has MAGA rights to call out Musk when he wants to. How are we going to fix the immigration problem when Musk wants to bring in more immigrants to take our jobs. :D

When you delve into the MAGA-verse you would not believe what is going on inside.  But apparently, some of our fellow Trump supporting members don't and they are getting on the wrong side of this 'strong disagreement'.  Anyway, look at all of the support for Bannon in the comments section of Megan Kelly's show on YT. The MAGA minions support what he said about Musk and immigration a week ago. It's delicious.
