Guyver Posted January 13 #5 Share Posted January 13 On the upside, a man could have sex with Aria and would not be guilty of committing adultery. Right?

Vox Posted January 13 #8 Share Posted January 13 A sex robot? For $175k? You could have mind blowing intimacy 10 times a year for 17.5 years with a real human. 1
Tatetopa Posted January 13 #9 Share Posted January 13 Tell me that is not desperate and creepy. Incels better get a part time job, Aria seems like a pretty expensive date.

Once AI begins working on the construction of these things, I think they will be very creepy. I can't imagine what they'll look like in a decade.
Sir Wearer of Hats Posted January 13 #15 Share Posted January 13 Now now, the creators have said it’s not a sexbot, it’s to replace the low income workers at Maccas etc, because it won’t be affected by verbal abuse etc and work for nothing.

But can she serve a burger in under the recommended 45 seconds.i very much doubt it. It seems to like to waffle on while waving it's too skinny arms around.

Nah mate, the drudge work will still be done by spotty teenagers who haven’t washed in a week and college graduates with degrees in Simbionese Interpretive Dance Theory, just the “front of house” work will be done by AI.

Doesn't really make economic sense though, those spotty teens usually do front of house as well. Hang on.these things go for 175 grand .i think they will stick with the graduate with degrees in psychic meditation techniques.👍

qxcontinuum Posted January 14 #23 Share Posted January 14 I suspect all the future AI's would be connected via wifi into a cloud service. They can never become self autonomous due to limited storage space.
Troublehalf Posted January 14 #24 Share Posted January 14 We all knew it was going to happen. It'll either improve technology wise or the forever meddling bureaucrats and so on will decide a machine has rights and you can't make robots because something something. Silly price, creepy look. People want sci-fi ones, where they're just humans but robots. Or androids. Or whatever. Also everybody always goes to sex, a robot can do much more than just be a walking m********ion machine. Pretty sure I saw an article a few years ago saying women will be having more sex with robot men than human men by 2025. I guess depends on the definition of 'robot', I'd have to go find the article, but I suspect it was from one of the usual ones guilty of such article headlines. Also, shouldn't it be 'blonde' not 'blond', since the traditional spelling is 'blond' for males and 'blonde' for females or is there something we need to know about Aria? I mean, I guess women might want some fun too...
Amorlind Posted January 14 #25 Share Posted January 14 (edited) Without being sexist, wich i'm definitely not, "social interaction" ? really ? with the kind of stereotype they are displaying ? seriously... We are not far from the Cherry 2000 movie. Edited January 14 by Amorlind
