That is Active Duty status for pay reasons.  I showed you the definition of active duty military.  Not active status.  National Guard members fighting wildfires are under active duty status.  They aren't active duty military.  I showed you the governments definition of Active Duty.

You might want to look up Title 10

The National Guard is active duty under Title 10 when deployed by the Federal government, which Hegseth was so therefore he was active duty.

Activated for Federal Service, and Active Duty military ARE NOT THE SAME.  Again, lets revisit the government's definition of active duty.

A person who is active duty is in the military full time. They work for the military full time, may live on a military base, and can be deployed at any time

Active Federal status is NOT Active Duty military.

You got TDS bad, you are actively denying the law as it is written.  When deoyed under federal control thr National Guard is active duty, you can deny it all you want but it is a fact, just like the fact you are a lier

I'm done arguing with people who have never served, and clearly don't know anything about the military.  If you ask a National Guard Veteran what component they served in, they say National Guard.  If you look at ANY VA form and it asks your service status, the options are Active Duty, National Guard, Army Reserves.  A National Guardsman that was deployed can not check the Active Duty box.  Period.  End of discussion.

So just hand waving away Title 10 cause it proves you wrong.  So far you have lied about Hegseth not being active duty when he was, said he never commanded slldiers when he did. And said he ndver saw combat and only had civilian jobs when he was in combat.  You are just an outright lier and arguably a disgrace to the American military.

He wasn't active duty, and he did not command Soldiers.  Platoon leaders are not Commanders.  The Commander gives the commands, and the platoon leader leads the mission.  Hence the titles.  It ain't rocket science.  Now, show me where I said he never saw combat?  I said when he was promoted to Captain, he wasn't given a command post, he was given a civil affairs job.  I'm sorry that you don't understand what any of this means.  It must be hard for you.

It's a moot point anyway. Obama's appointee, Chuck Hagel, was the first combat veteran to be the SoD.

Chuck Hagel > Historical Office > Article View

I guess we're just lucky we survived all the rest of them.

Some context on a different SecDef nominee with similar issues:

https://slate.com/news-and-politics/2025/01/pete-hegseth-confirmation-john-tower-secretary-of-defense.html

A little amusing that the replacement was good old Dick Cheney.

Looks like Hegseth has lost as many Republican votes as he currently has ex-wives, but that should still allow him through.
