OMG. Whatever will we do?

For most of America, President Donald Trump’s return to the White House is a time to celebrate. For Disney’s Star Wars star Mark Hamill, it’s a time to mourn.

“From midnight tonight until next Saturday morning, there’s no TV, no Internet, no Social Media, no nothing for me,” Hamill said on Bluesky, in a message that included the hashtag “5 Day Blackout” and a solid black image.

Biden just pardoned the J-6 committee and several of his family members on the way out the door.  Typical...

I noticed Fauci got a pardon too. How does that make you feel?

I don’t feel that way. I get the impression the MAGA lunatics like Majorie Taylor Greene RFK Jr will act like a rabid wolves looking to tear into anyone that goes against their craziness. Biden is protecting them.

More like Biden is trying to salvage what little of his pathetic legacy he has left.

I think it’s more likely that he’s protecting himself. A preemptive pardon (before charges have been filed) gives the appearance that a crime has been committed. Biden may be desperately hoping that the Trump administration will be rendered helpless by throwing up barricades, but the Supreme Court may see it differently.

I don't like the idea of "pre-emptive" pardons for anyone but if the tables  were turned - and they likely will be in four years - I'd do it to protect my people from going through what they put Trump through for the last four years.  That was unprecedented but now it will become expected/accepted.  It's just another indication of how damaged our legal system has become.

Yes, they did and I was predicting mass chaos, violence and general mayhem.  I assumed they'd behave worse than they did in 2016.  My reasoning was that these people had done everything they could for over 8 years to keep him out of the office so why would they stop now?  I'm confused, to be honest.  BUT... I said that if my prediction flopped, I'd admit it so here goes:

I WAS WRONG.  MY PREDICTION OF CHAOS TURNED OUT TO BE NONSENSE.

I'm happy to admit it and I hope it is a first sign of all of us moving on to a more sensible dialogue and a better day for America.

We are not out of the woods yet, don't eat any crow until at least the first 100 days. The service you have done for us is to expose how out of touch the traditional Democrats are.  Maybe the average citizen can make some gains  if we have a chance. But I must say, you offer us little hope of a peaceful prosperous America for anybody but the elites.

Gee, what happened, there were no riots it's almost like people said okay lets move on in life.

Simply put you got to accept things you can’t control and just let it go.

HI Rather

It has never been about me as I am Canadian. What it does show is there aren't sore losers that create turmoil or false accusations one the other side of the fence. Trump is gone in 4 years anyway unless he does something that gets him impeached.

How can you pardon someone for a crime that hasn't been charged?  But then again, Democrats prosecuted Trump for crimes in which he was never charged (insurrection)....

I don't believe that.  In fact, I think that while the elites will surely prosper - they always do, don't they? - I think the rest of us will see better days, as well.

It's an interesting point.  Who knows, maybe it will get tested in the courts - IF someone can be seen to have standing.  I think we can be sure that had it been Orange Man Bad giving blanket pardons to his family, the courts would definitely find a reason to intervene and set precedent, one way or another.
