Donald Trump has rewritten the history of January 6th (The Economist)

“THIS IS A big one,” Donald Trump said as he signed a clemency order for nearly 1,600 January 6th rioters just hours after being sworn into office. By evening Enrique Tarrio, the leader of the Proud Boys, a far-right group, who had served three years of a 22-year sentence in federal prison for choreographing the attack on the Capitol in 2021, was in a holding cell in Louisiana awaiting release. Back in Miami, Mr Tarrio says a full pardon was what he expected “from day one after the election”.

The plans he made for life after liberation won’t start just yet. His first day home is “a moment of zen” before he figures out what is next for him and for the Proud Boys. To those who say that the pardons represent a whitewashing of what happened on January 6th, Mr Tarrio replies that his imprisonment in the first place was an injustice. “I understand their game, you take the opponents’ pieces off the board,” he says. “And I’m down to play that game, right? But we’re not at that point yet.” He is not “calling for it”, but he means that his team too can lock people up.

  • The title was changed to Donald Trump has rewritten the history of January 6th (The Economist)

Not that the Left will ever admit or accept it, but if/when evidence is found by the investigation of the J-6 Committee, Independents and Republicans will see vindication not only for the protest but for the pardons and commutations.  I welcome seeing all of what Pelosi did.  If the evidence confirms the accusations then she needs to be prosecuted if that's possible and the public outcry from the Left be damned.

Nah, it'll probably be different faces if there is a next time. ;) The idea that "history is being rewritten" is ridiculous.  It's more accurate to say that the other side is finally going to be heard.  I can't wait to see the committee hearings during the investigation of the work that was done by that partisan, IMO traitorous, J6 Committee.  There was quite a lot of evidence that was hidden or reliably ignored by media.  Even if crimes were committed, the members will be able to avoid jail - unless they refuse to testify or lie under oath.  The Left will make excuses but CC videos and sworn testimony will convince more than a few Independents.

So you want to investigate what someone didn't do while not holding people accountable for their own actions?  That's the dumbest thing I've ever heard.  I forgot to lock the door, so I can't blame the man who robbed my house?  Explain to me the difference?

Not celebrating his death by any means, just adding this one to the list.

Those people were unhinged and it's clearly showing.

Oh good lord! And he probably won't be the last either. Well, I can foresee conspiracy theories about what is happening to these rioters taking shape soon.

Incoming!
