Still Waters Posted January 26 #1 Share Posted January 26 The government has confirmed retailers selling knives online will require ID to purchase and also on delivery. After it emerged Southport killer Axel Rudakubana bought the knife he used to kill three young girls from Amazon when he was just 17 years old, the government has brought forward planned changes to online knife sales. A person buying a knife online will now have to submit a copy of their photo ID, such as a driver's licence or passport, as well as proof of address, such as a utility bill. They will then have to show ID again when the package is delivered. https://news.sky.com/story/stricter-checks-for-online-knife-purchases-to-be-introduced-13296973 2
stevewinn Posted January 26 #2 Share Posted January 26 (edited) Yes this would’ve stopped the killer. - NOT, - how weak and pathetic are the govt, but they think they must be seen to do something and to them this is enough. He also had access to Ricin. are they not going to pass tougher legislation on preventing acquiring a biological weapon that could kill thousands, we still don’t know how much Ricin he had, - we still dont know if there was a link between Taylor Swifts tour in europe being targetted by Al-Qaeda, at the same time he targets a Taylor Swift Dance class. we've got no answers to all this, because no court case. After all he was in possession of Al-Qaeda training manual. which was illegal to have. never mind the failings by the state, no wonder Its a state cover up - the last thing the govt wanted was a trial, even the Police said they wanted to treat it as terrorism but the CPS said no. the fact there is no evidence for terrorism charge, is because their investigations into this aspect had been hampered. the Police didn’t have the free reign to gather all the evidence that may have proved otherwise. Plus the Police would’ve had longer to investigate if they had charged with terrorism. but it was all rushed. Police unable to fully investigate, a CPS pushing it through, a court date set on the same day as Trump inuagration, unlikely guilty plea on the Monday. no trial and sentenced Thursday, tomorrows chippy paper by Friday. Wow. But lets make it harder to purchase a knife online. To register on Amazon you have to be 18 years, on delivery it was handed over to one of his parents. because the delivery would state does the person look older than 25, and their year of Birth taken before handing over. I doubt showing ID and gas Bill, is going to stop someone who's devious enough to evade detection purchasing required ingredients to produce Ricin. devious enough to convince the anti-terror service Prevent he wasn’t a threat.
