There are at least 3 homes on fire and several cars. It was a medical lane that crashed. This is from the live link on NBC 10.

It's still live on CNN too.

They're showing a video showing a huge explosion when the plane hit. Really hoping people on the ground are ok. Someone just said a piece of the plane hit a customer in a diner. It's near a mall and there's a lot of businesses and traffic in the area. Not to mention it's 6 pm on a Friday night when the area is really busy. They're talking about pieces of the plane flying over a large area. They are trying to evacuate everyone from the area. Two pilots were onboard. The plane was a med jet that took off from Northeast Airport which is about 4 miles from the crash site.

I haven't heard anything on the local broadcast yet about gas lines but there's a lot of smoke and fire. It doesn't look like local news has the same advantage point as CNN and all they show is a lot of fire. The video shows a huge explosion when the plane hit. It was a jet and it had just taken off heading for, I believe they said, Missouri. It was loaded with fuel. It's a medical jet of some type. They think the 2 pilots were the only ones onboard the plane but the number of people who would be in that area on a Friday night is scary. A big mall, a lot of stores and restaurants and residential homes. A Lear jet 55 is what they just ID'd the jet as.

Here's the update to the link to NBC 10. The live video is the same but more info. They're telling people to walk out to get away from the area. The streets are a mess.

Channel 6 ABC also has a live link on their site now. They are reporting multiple casualties. It was a Learjet 55 heading to Missouri.

Philadelphia plane crash: Video shows multiple fires near Cottman Avenue and Roosevelt Boulevard; multiple casualties reported - 6abc Philadelphia

Channel 6 and 10 are now on breaking news coverage on my TV. This is bad. Channel 10 says now there were 6 people on the plane.

Plane came in at a 45 deg angle or better and it wasn't just falling out of the sky. Dang!

I'm watching ABC channel 6 now. They are still saying 2 onboard the plane. It was on a medical mission. Jets like this are used to take organs for transplants but they don't know what the mission actually was. Philadelphia has a lot, a whole lot, of major hospitals and medical centers. University of Pennsylvania, Drexel University and Temple University are huge medical schools with centers. Jefferson Einstein Medical Center and Children's Hospital of Philadelphia are also huge. They just reported a firefighter has been taken to Jefferson and they can see ambulances with lights on going past them. I haven't seen channel 10 for a while.

The crash site is about 4 miles from the airport it took off from. No one knows what happened to the plane yet. No reports of any transmissions from airport to plane.

People are telling the reporters they saw bodies on the ground as they pass by. They saw cars and buildings on fire. A lot of casualties are feared.

They're panning the area and there is fire everywhere. It's unknown if there was a patient onboard or what the mission of the plane was.

Now they're saying there were at least 2 people on the plane and there may have been as many as 6 but they haven't been able to confirm it. Channel 10 reported that a while ago. There was at least a pilot and a medic but they don't know if there's a patient or others involved. They don't know what the medical mission was that the plane was on.

Well it's not going to take long for the CT to blame this one on terrorism.

The person filming is shouting Allah Akbar.

Press conference now. Several dwellings and vehicles impacted. If you see debris don't touch anything. Call 911. Under investigation and there will be many briefings to come. Telling people if they are safe to stay in their home. The Governor and Senator Fetterman are on their way. This was the Mayor. She said there were videos showing cars and people on fire. She is all shook up and her voice was really emotional. She was the only one who spoke. Everyone else is pretty busy I guess. They just said the fire dept said they have the fires under control with most of them extinquished but there's still hot spots.

Roosevelt Blvd is a 6 lane highway in an extremely busy area. This isn't going to be good.

Oh dear. The Mayor just said if you find debris not to touch it but call 911. Witnesses have put debris in the parking lot of the mall and the witness they are interviewing now is reporting seeing body parts. This is what people there are saying. It's less than 4 miles from the airport to the crash site so the plane wasn't in the air very long.

All the federal alphabets are here now and they are at the airport.

Our new Secretary of Aviation has just said there were 6 people on the jet, so now it's thought there was a patient onboard and doctors and possibly nurses were also onboard. They're talking about the weather and it has been raining today but nothing bad. Not windy either. But they're looking at it. Also the plane's instruments and engine. Of course, all communications. I see the FAA, the FTA and the NTSB are here.

I switched to CNN, I know not why, and they said the patient on the plane was a child. With 4 medical personnel and an escort. They also said the plane was glowing as it came down. I didn't hear anything like that from any of the witnesses interviewed in Philadelphia.

I know 6 ABC Philadelphia just reported a child taken to Jefferson Hospital with unknown injuries. No one is saying about the number of injuries or fatalities, just that there are some.

I just saw this comment on a Chuck Holton livestream:   This poster said the flight was a pediatric medical jet flight  :( From the looks of that fiery crash, there wouldn't be any survivors on the jet.

It was a pediatric flight. Philadelphia news, which is what I'm watching, said there is debris everywhere. Burned out cars and burned buildings. Witnesses who were there and saw it said they saw bodies on the ground and body parts. That area is so busy and a Friday night yet. This is bad and-then. It's going to be a long night. They said now the rain is picking up. They also mentioned fog at the time. I live about 50 miles north of Philly and it's been raining all day but nothing out of the ordinary. It's actually been quite warm today and Philly is usually warmer than we are. It's still 37 and light rain here.  Now they said all police and first responders are being brought in to secure the crash scene because it is so large. The news will stay on the air in Philly to cover what they can find out. They don't know how many people were in the homes or cars that were hit. This is going to be a long night. They said they have no idea how many people have been killed or injured on the ground. They know of one child in hospital and 3 people treated and released. They know some burn victims are in hospital. But it's feared the numbers will be high. We'll have to wait and see. The most impact is on Cottman Ave which is crazy busy. The Roosevelt Blvd is a 6 lane major highway used by tens of thousands every day.

I put a lot of info in the thread as I heard it. They are waiting for the federal alphabets to come to the scene. They are now at the airport as far as I know. I know Governor Shapiro is now with the Mayor and will go down by the scene.

These witnesses who are there are unreal. One on now says he saw bodies fly across the street. He saw debris hit a bus and catch it on fire. He saw a woman with her jacket on fire. What they describe on the ground is just horrible. So much to put together.

Governor Shapiro is with the Mayor at the scene and talking now. A whole lot of Pennsylvania agencies are also there now to give assistance. An evacuation center has been set up for people who had to evacuate or have been involved in some way.

This live broadcast is showing what I saw on TV. It's already into the press conference with Shapiro.
