Millions of doughnuts, baked goods sold nationwide recalled

The products were distributed and sold nationwide. While the recall was issued on Jan. 7, the FDA never made a public announcement regarding it.

Just get rid of the FDA next and producers won't have all these pesky recalls to cut into their profits.

I don't understand why the recall wasn't announced.  If this is a real threat, why would they neglect letting people be aware of it?

Seems to me that there seems to be an awful lot of food recalls lately from baked goods to hot dogs and fresh produce and so on.

Wonder why that is?

Because Trump gave them the order to not announce them around two weeks ago?

That's odd. I guess they weren't listening.

It may seem so, but it appears the CDC, NLRB, NIH, OSHA,  CFPB, NOAA and the NWS, and any other department that provided safety inspections, warnings, weather alerts, and testing are all being stifled or run through the wood chipper.  Did I miss something here?

That's what they are leading people to believe anyway. That's what they said about the FDA and they got the message out about the pastries same as always.

A month late is better than never I suppose.

Edit to add:  Ah, I just noticed that it got upgraded to Class II on Wednesday: https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/fda-recalls-more-than-2-million-baked-goods-over-concerns-of-listeria-contamination/ar-AA1yFLBX?ocid=BingNewsSerp

People getting sick or dying might be noticable enough to make people disregard Trump's order.

Apparently, this has been going on since the middle of December. What was the excuse before Trump got into office?

The US Food and Drug Administration issued a recall of 2,017,614 cases of assorted donuts from FGF LLC on Wednesday due to fears of a Listeria monocytogenes contamination first announced on January 7, 2025

Edit to add: I mean, if you can link an executive order from Biden stopping the FDA of putting things online- feel free to do so.

Pffft. What's a few people dying while Biden napped for a couple of weeks. My link says 12/13. Either way Trump was not in office.

I'd guess it gets down to shoddy or non-existent quality controls.

The recall includes all products produced on December 13, 2024 and before

The outbreak's source has not been released, nor was a press release issued for the recall.

Looks like someone finally got around to making the announcement on January 7th.

Don't bother blaming him.  I mean, no reason to break your solid record of ignoring all the damage he did for 4 years.

Looking at his stats- he was better than Trump his first time around.

They are Elon Musk, and the Trump administration announcing what they have done.  Is that the they you were thinking about?  One example below.

Trump Official Orders Consumer Financial Protection Bureau to Stop Work

Yeah, I get it, both sides are playing politics and exaggerating.  However, I remember directly from Trump's mouth the desire to eliminate FEMA and let the states handle their own emergencies, so it doesn't seem so far fetched to me that the tech bro wolves are eliminating all of the sheep dogs that guard the flock. Fire all of the inspectors general and before replacing them give Elon access to the books. I don't think this makes Trump evil, I just believe he doesn't care and delegates all of the dull stuff to Elon and the tech bros to do as they choose.

That proposed tax cut is gonna cost 1.1 trillion a year.  USAID budget was about 70 billion.  Its a start, about 6% of what they need to make the tax cut deficit neutral.  Only 94% to go.
