Trump dodges questions on prices despite claiming he would bring them down on ‘day one’ in office

None of his policies will bring down prices, they will raise them. But he isn't in politics to support the ordinary guy, he's in it to make the lives of the millionaires better.

Donald Trump did not offer any concrete policy proposals or timeline on his campaign promise to immediately halt inflation and bring down the price of “everything” during his latest Fox News interview.

The nonspecific answers came in the interview recorded last week but broadcast in full on Monday on Fox News, where anchor Bret Baier asked the president, “If all goes to plan, when do you think families will be able to feel prices going down—groceries, energy—or are you kind of saying to them, ‘Hang on, inflation may get worse until it gets better’?”

“Look, we're not that rich right now,” Trump responded, before bragging about his support in the U.S. auto industry, criticizing past trade policy, and threatening Canada with a potential 100 percent tariff on autos.

Someone who is already a millionaire doesn’t really need to have their lives made better.  The the average guy who works a job that makes his/her life better, generally works for someone who has the money to start/maintain a company that employs people, thus helping the economy and the average Joe in the process. So, I just disagree with your philosophy.

Trickle down economics? If it works for you, you are already a millionaire.

Any of those that voted for him because you believed his "promises"?   Of course prices haven't gone down, they will be going up again soon because of tarrifs and other wall street shenanigans that the president has no control over.

Trickle down philosophy?   Really, after the shambles of the 80's you still believe that?

If millionaires don't need to have their lives made better, then why are we flush with billionaires now with trillionaires looming on the horizon?

Also the average wealth of Americans since 2022  is now over a million dollars. https://www.investopedia.com/average-americans-net-worth-8713595

But only around 9% of Americans are millionaires.  Trickle down obviously isn't happening. (Granted that means almost 1 out of 10 people you meet on the street is a millionaire these days, I guess).

Shambles?  It was shambles before Reagan.  Yes….I do believe it….and for all the people on the government teet, you are getting trickle down economics.  The only difference is that instead of working for it…you let the government trickle it to you.

In fairness, he was busy day one. He had to clear up that Gulf of Mexico thing, and didn't we win the war with Denmark?

 First - clarify what exactly "government teet" is?

But that means nothing because of inflation.   Someone with a million dollars literally lives as upper middle class.  Any one who earns less than 100,000 a year is lower class nowadays.  Anyone who makes less than 50,000 a year is living in poverty.   (U.S. dollars)   Imagine all those elderly getting 1600 a month from social securiity, they can't afford to pay rent, the utilities and buy food in the same month in  most cities in the U.S.   And if they were smart enough to pay off their house while they were working, they can't qualify for medicaid so they can't afford medical care.

So basically anything trickled down is being lost in the flood of inflation?

I would go so far as to say, shouldn't we have a higher percentage of millionaires if the average wealth is over a million and trickle down is supposed to lift people from the bottom (to the middle I would assume)?

Government social welfare programs of many varieties for one.  I’m not into arguing, discussing or debating now…so, I will go.

The point is that Nothing get Trickled Down!   It is manipulation to make it ok for big money to get bigger with lower percentages of taxes than the people who work for them.

Takes money to make money and everyone knows this.  I’m out.

Do you know what it takes to qualify for any of those government programs?   Also, all of them are barely subsidized by the feds, the states take the burden of those programs.

And it takes tax money to run a government, so why do billionaires pay less taxes than those of us who are working for crumbs?  "Trickle Down" just means less taxes for those who can afford to pay them.

Yes, that's what I thought you meant. Like social security, SSI, SSDI, medicaid, medicare, snap benefits. WRONG! We all eventually pay into that no matter what you have been told. Don't you understand that EVERYBODY in this country pays taxes somewhere and at some point? Some of that money goes into those programs. With your logic, you shouldn't get social security when you retire, because it's the "government teet".  It's like you think everybody should work until they drop dead at? Even in their 80's or 90's. Uneducated.

Don’t forget chasing off immigrants that work in primary industries like farming

Would you believe there are many ignorant asses  out there that think we should revert back to the way things were before the 1920's. No social security, children working and dying in factories again, women not allowed to vote, segregation in schools, all that BS past generations fought so hard to fix and stop. Just pure unchecked capitalism (no regulations or safety) and screw everybody else that's not able to become rich enough to be independent. It's that kind of deranged mental self-serving attitude that really exists.
