Petition for UK to rejoin EU as full member hits 100k signatures

We gave it a try, it turned more **** than predicted, now is the time to act like an adult and rejoin.

A petition calling for the United Kingdom to rejoin the European Union “as soon as possible” has reached 100,000 signatures.

We’re more than five years on from Brexit officially happening, and it’s safe to say everyone hates it. From celebrities such Alan Sugar and Jeremy Clarkson to most of the British public, including some who voted for it, everyone agrees it’s gone badly.

Even the main cheerleader of the whole thing, Nigel Farage, has openly admitted on numerous occasions that leaving the EU has been bad for the UK and failed.

And the 100 billion a year we saved from membership. Plus the untold billions that everyone gained that wasn't accounted for by the Treasury. It's like saying you don't want to pay £5 for a Blue Light Card, even though they save you 50% on a £50 Dominos Pizza bill. You save £5, but now you pay £25 extra every time you go to Dominos- which with the EU, is every day. Idiots.

So, you make me understand that the UK is better off, outside the EU.

You know, both the Netherlands and Denmark were once seriously considering leaving the EU.

But after seeing how things went in the UK after Brexit, none is that 'eager' any longer.

Not all countries once in the EU can leave. or afford to.  Example being the UK economy is three times the size of the Netherlands and five times that of Denmark. I've said it before, being EU members suits some countries. i'd argue the Netherlands and Denmark are their out of necessity and would recommend they stay members.

So, since Brexit and Covid. The UK has out performed the two powerhouses of the EU. Germany and France. We've went from the 12th Largest exporter in the world to 4th. signed more trade deals, and with more countries since we left than we had while members and we also got our independent seat at the world Trade Organisation back. we have removed tariffs from one fifth of the product lines where we had to impose tariffs under EU rules. recently signed up to tariff free trade with the Trans Pacific Partnership. Our total trade is up 8.6% 2016 to 2023 in volume and much more in money. Our service trade is up 30% in real terms. Our total exports to the EU are up 6.2% in real terms.

Not to shabby performance at all.

Now all we have to do is get Reform into office finish off Brexit and light the boosters under the economy. instead of this shambles of a Labour Govt.

End of reply to yourself.

Talking of petitions i signed the Chaos Islands petition some weeks ago i had a response from the Govt. But its still open to sign.

https://petition.parliament.uk/petitions/702712?reveal_response=yes#response-threshold

But talking of the Rejoin the EU petition its already run out of steam, currently out of the top 5 on the site, sitting down in 8th.and getting less than 20 signatures an hour. - noble effort, and i hope they debate it, will give Reform MP's chance to attend and speak.

I would imagine that with Trump verbally and actually bashing the EU, and it shown on the news every night, the view of EU membership by the general public is going to change.

To something resembling a leper colony. 😉
