British military chiefs rage over fears of Trump sell out of Ukraine

How will world leaders be able to avoid offending Trump? They have to give him the message that he is a dangerous moron in some way, but he is too moronic to understand subtlety.

Sir Keir Starmer faces a possible diplomatic breach with Donald Trump over the president’s shock talks with Russia’s Vladimir Putin on the Ukraine war.

After learning of Mr Trump’s plan to meet Putin in Saudi Arabia to discuss the issue, defence secretary John Healey said Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky must have a say.

And British defence figures are said to reacted furiously to claims Ukraine will be forced to give up land to Russia in a peace deal, saying of the US administration’s stance: “The b******* are going to do this”.

The robust British response could mark the first major test in relations between the Labour government and Mr Trump’s White House.

Feel free to spend as much as you like for as long as you like.  No one is stopping the UK or any other EU nation from helping Ukraine.  Let's just be honest, those who are angry are upset because America is tired of footing the majority of the bill for a war that will go on with no end in sight.

If all Europe is going to do is throw guns and money at Ukraine and cheer them on, Ukraine will lose. Only European boots on the ground in Ukraine can bring an end to the war with Ukraine brought into the Union. If the UK wants to dig trenches in England over people in a faraway land about whom they know nothing, then stay the course.

Trump is anti-democracy and pro-Putin. Can't you see he is a danger to the US as well as Europe? And he is not footing the bill for Europe, he is footing the bill for the US- same as in WW2. Don't you want to live in a free world?

Well, if your view of dealing with tyrants is just to give in to them, then the US is finished. Finished as a world power and you may as well just get into bed with the communists in China and N Korea. Don't ask Europe for help to get you out of the hole the idiot Trump has dug you in to.

Europe couldn't help if it wanted to. It has no force projection capability or infrastructure, without relying on us. What have you got? Two diesel carriers and a regional navy tailored to dominate the North Sea. Brits are tough, but your armed forces--as usual--have been sorely neglected in peacetime.
