Russian state TV and Kremlin insiders laughing at Trump’s concessions to Putin

Why doesn't Trump take advice from people who actually know things? Experts in trade, tariffs and politics? Negotiations? He is Dunning-Kruger incarnate.

Kremlin insiders spent Wednesday night laughing on Russian state TV after President Donald Trump handed his counterpart, Vladimir Putin, significant concessions in the upcoming peace talks over the war in Ukraine before the negotiations had even begun.

Trump and his administration in recent days have put the kibosh on the notion that Ukraine could become a member of NATO and that it could take back territories currently under Russian control.

Propagandists on Russian state TV and radio broke into elated laughter as Ukraine and its allies were left bewildered. Olga Skabeeva, the host of the Russian state TV program 60 Minutes, called the events “unthinkable” and “unimaginable,” according to Julia Davis, an analyst of Russian media, writing for The Daily Beast.

In fairness to Trump, assuming he’s not an agent of Russia, I’ve read that Trump’s generosity to Russia is based on separating Russia from China and Iran. He fears America losing any trade war more than Russian expansion. Without Russian resources China and BRICC’s is nothing. The UK and France won’t be too pleased with Russia being elevated above them in the best friend stakes and demoted to next level best of the bitches, like the rest of the planet

I think it's been self apparent that both of those things have been a reality since this war began.  If the EU wants to keep slogging through endless slaughter of Ukrainians, go for it.  The ONLY way Ukraine wins this war is if NATO troops join them and anyone who thinks Putin would allow that, is foolish to a frightening degree.  Saying that does not make a person a Putin supporter, it just makes them conscious of reality.  The BEST deal here would be to stop the slaughter and then for NATO nations and the US to begin a truly massive arms buildup.  If Vlad tries to take advantage and restart attacks on more territory in Ukraine THEN NATO with the US should do everything possible to supply enough sophisticated armaments to bleed him until he learns the lesson.

He tried that in his first term and they harried every move he made for four years.  As for needing their help in the art of negotiation, you really can't be serious.

Putin's "doll" should be taken seriously with this remark.  Yeah, she's a propagandist, and that's why she's yukking it up trying to make Trump look like a fool.  People who assume Trump is an idiot where negotiations are concerned, isn't very bright.  I'd be truly amazed if Putin believes he can embarrass Trump in deal-making.  Of course, the Left will SAY he has lost or been humiliated but that last election proved that very, VERY few people actually listen to the propagandists for the Left any longer ;)

Being the largest country on earth, Russia has almost inexhaustible resources, and it is possible that Trump and other western capitalists have business interests over there. With the Arctic melting as well, Russia will further increase its resource base dramatically, with its BRICS allies hoping to profit from the ventures.

So I suppose there is some sort of competition for getting the best deals from the Russians.

Lots of people assume that the two blades of a scissors are at war with each other. They are mistaken. In secret both conspire to destroy what is between them.

I heard that Russia conceded 50% of Ukraines rare earth mineral rights to the US- so it wasn't all one sided!

(I would put the <sarcasm> tag, but I get the sinking feeling it's true.)

A sane person would see this as a damning judgement on the quality of his ideas.
