Yea , i'll have to say that more often when something like this happens people usually die, very fortunate.

It sounded like a wind gust as he landed, literally flipped it over on its roof.  There seems to be much less structural damage than you'd expect.

I heard on the news that it was really windy and blowing snow when the plane attempted to land. They said 8 hurt, 1 pretty seriously. This really is a miracle.

I just read an update that said three (two adults and one teen) are in critical condition.

I hope everyone was restrained when it happened.  Having the floor become the ceiling in the snap of a finger could lead to some serious spinal injuries.

Don’t know if cross winds were to blame but every landing I had at Pearson has been scary because of these winds.

All the same so glad that there were no deaths.

Every flight I've ever taken seat belts were on while landing. Even the cabin crew. I'm thinking the injuries came from things that were flying. Some of the overheads may have opened. It had to be horrifying to go through.

Based on my last couple of flights, a non negligible amount of anti-social people insist on using large laptops through the landing process. Probably quite dangerous in a bad landing scenario.

I just saw this update. None of the injuries are considered life threatening. A lot of pictures in link. It looks like snow on the runway to me.

Delta plane crashes, overturns in Toronto; all survive, officials say

Peel Regional Paramedic Services said none of the injuries were considered to be life-threatening.

Three people suffered critical injuries -- one child, a man in his 60s and a woman in her 40s -- according to Ornge, which provides medical transport. The child was transported to the Hospital for Sick Children and is listed in good condition, the hospital said Monday evening.

Among the others, 12 people have mild injuries, Peel Regional Paramedics Services said.

Toronto Airport Fire Chief Todd Aitken said Monday evening that the runway was dry and there were no crosswind conditions at the time of the crash.

What caused the plane to flip and catch fire was not immediately clear but the investigation is already underway, sources told ABC News. The Transportation Safety Board of Canada will lead the investigation, the FAA said. Investigators from the FAA and National Transportation Safety Board are assisting.

While the cause is unknown, the crash unfolded during blowing snow and strong wind gusts in the region. Winds reached 40 mph on the ground and were even stronger several hundred feet in the air.

So lucky.  I think the wings breaking off while the body kept sliding is what saved them.  The poor pilots, those lives in their hands.

Good thing Trump fired hundreds of FAA employees this past week and sent Starlink in to see if they can do a better job: https://www.msn.com/en-us/money/companies/musk-helped-fire-hundreds-of-faa-workers-now-his-spacex-employees-could-fill-the-void/ar-AA1zir6v?ocid=msedgntp&pc=U531&cvid=16d2905a851f4bc991791ab6d3f2a324&ei=18

Back in the eighties I worked for a Southwestern Bell contractor.  One day mymission was to escort one of our technicians from Houston to Dallas to examine a job we were estimating.  Jerry was in his mid thirties, unsophisticated and had never been on a plane.  Shortly after we departed it was clear something was wrong, the cabin was hot and didn’t seem pressurized properly. Before you know it we plane had turned around and was landing. I noticed emergency vehicles on the runway and so did Jerry.  They put us in a second plane  but in short time announced that it would was unfit for flight. Jerry was getting very nervous at this point. The third plane was ok. Jerry swore he would never fly again.
