Scientists capture end-of-life brain activity that prove humans have souls

A mysterious burst of energy that happens in the brain as we die could be the soul leaving the body, according to an expert.

Dr Stuart Hameroff, anesthesiologist and professor at the University of Arizona, recently discussed a study that captured the brain activity of clinically dead patients.

He explained how researchers placed small sensors on the brains of seven chronically ill patients minutes before they were taken off life support, allowing them to capture activity after each patient's blood pressure and heart dropped to zero.

Dr Hameroff told host Jay Anderson of the YouTube channel Project Unity that the scientists 'saw everything go away and got [this burst] of activity.'

'That could be the near-death experience or it could be the soul leaving the body perhaps,' he said.

Just curious, what kind of threads would you prefer. . . and does any forum here meet your needs at all?

I mean, I just don't understand why people that hate what this forum does continue to visit and complain about its contents. I dislike plenty of things in the world and you know when you'll see me hanging out on forums about those subjects?  NEVER

-----------------

Anyway, a great 80's film is Brainstorm.

What if a mind recording device records the moment a scientist. . . .

Spoiler

. . . . .died and the tape can be replayed. Trailer is spoilery near end.

Why am I still here? Maybe I'm waiting to be surprised, but know I won't. Could be I'm holding out for that 1% of optimistic desire that the believers will actual prove something, even though they can't. I might just be here because I enjoy discussing thing with some of the member's I like.

But, hate. You used that word I didn't. As time has passed by I see the same or similar discussions. All going in circles.

Ok hate was too harsh. But the exasperation expressed by unbelievers of everything sometimes seems to imply it.

Unlike others, seeking what I might perceive as one ghost doesn't convince me they exist. Having what would amount to a miracle doesn't prove to me god exist. Seeing something odd in the sky doesn't automatically make it aliens. Perhaps too much research, application, and a horrible lack of repeatable results keep me from being blindly convinced of the paranormal and supernatural. By all accounts if I was lesser in mind, I might believe like I once did. I'm just not that stupid any longer.

You need to give some better details on this assumption, or are you seeking to compel me in to your brand of faith?

I'll bite...

Reminds me of the time I had this fish...an electric blue something...it was almost dead, so I put it in a cup of water, slowly pushing it around with a pencil...amazingly it started swimming, so I put it back in the tank.  Then ....schwinnnng bizzaro...the thing just started swimming at light speed for about 2 seconds, all over the tank, then just as suddenly he stopped and all his fins shot out like someone being electrocuted.  That was it, he was dead.  He most definitely had a burst of energy upon death.

So, if the mysterious burst of energy that happens in the brain as we die is the soul leaving the body...then even tiny little fish have souls.  Conclusion:  nothing ever dies, every living thing on Earth just continues living in the universe just without a body.  But people go to people heaven and fish go to fish heaven...unless they are bad, non-believing fish and then they go to fish hell.  That's where all my fish go.  Straight to the septic tank via the flush.  So glad I could take part in this riveting discussion of souls and dead fish.

I will not claim I totally understand Xeno's psyche, because that would be arrogant.

But from what he posted here throughout the years, I can say he doesn't come across as having "blind faith" or "being gullible".

And it's obvious to me that you did not understand his post, the one you replied to.

NDEs can be explained by brain activity during critical moments of distress, such as oxygen deprivation, the release of endorphins, or other neurochemical changes. During these moments, the brain might produce vivid hallucinations or experiences that feel profoundly real.

Scientific evidence supports the idea that NDEs and other similar experiences are the result of brain activity. However, because these experiences are highly subjective and personal, definitive evidence for or against the existence of a soul remains elusive.

On the other hand, the idea of a soul departing the body is deeply rooted in many religious and spiritual beliefs. For those who hold these views, NDEs might be interpreted as glimpses into a metaphysical realm or the afterlife.

It shows the limitations of trying to understand the superphysical by just looking at the physical.
