Althalus Posted June 16, 2003 #1 Share Posted June 16, 2003 A Belgian couple has tried to sneak into the royal palace in Brussels to save the country's king and queen from an assassination plot by the deposed Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein, Belga news agency said. The pair scaled railings surrounding the palace in the heart of the Belgian capital late Saturday but were intercepted by security staff, Belga said. They said that Saddam was on the palace grounds and had planned to kill King Albert and Queen Paola on Sunday, Belga said.
