Between a gun, and martial arts? Give me both. Make it 2 guns. Let me choose for myself which to use in a given situation. After that 30 seconds of danger is over, society can decide if I made the right choice and dispose of me at their pleasure.

No, seriously. I own lots of guns but not because I'm afraid of people. I just have them because I like them. I wouldn't feel vulnerable if I didn't own any.

But since gun ownership ranks somewhere between child abuse and cannibalism to some people on this board, I generally avoid those threads now.
