Scar Posted June 29, 2005 #151 Share Posted June 29, 2005 After being stabbed in the neck at 15 I feel you guys are completely missing the point (no pun intended). The whole idea is to minimise the availability of "deadly weapons" when people act in a "heat of the moment reaction". Now In my youth knife/yob culture was evident everywhere, many incidents I have witnessed and some sadly directly involved me. Eg1) Me, 15 after football practise I helped a guy who was getting beatup. My nature is very aggresive toward people who use their status to bully. I interviened and one of boys ran into a house where one of the bullies resided, picked up a kitchen knife and as I beat two bullieigs about (self defence) I was stabbed in the back of the neck. as it was pulled out it tore a 7" gash across the back of my neck, it was then plunged into my skull twice more where it was bent. Would I have been stabbed if the knifes had been squared & Blunted? No Possibley another object may have been used, a bottle perhaps a brick. But none would have caused as much damage as that knife. Eg2) My friend was pinned down and i was pinned against the wall with a knife to my throat. My freind was slashed repeatedly in the face with lollipop stick with two stanley blades attached, Most horrific thing I have ever had to witness. I escaped as many onlookers finally made an effort to stop it. Would my friend have been slashed if the kitchen knifes had been squared ? Yes, this was prempted whomever was there it would have happned to them aswell. To me one stabbing avoided is a victory, wether it be me or someone else many "heat of the moment" stabbings would be avoided. Stop being nieve to think there banning everything for no reason, there making something less likely to end your life.
