Well I think that there might be several answers...one is that they are guides like angels and stuff and the other is that they are people in our past that have passed on, so I DO SUPPORT your theory.

My friend sees balck shadows all the time, actually he saw one in his car the other day and I was with him in it...its a little bit scary. He called his mother and she also has the capability of seeing them and she told him not to be afraid that this might be an angel sent to him to guide him, and just because he can see things like these he can see this black shadow. It actually goes with him everywhere, kinda creepy...we just hope it's good

I can relate to this, I know someone that has perceived dark shadow like figures that have only been seen through her eyes.

Allot of people consider these things as a chemical inbalance of the brain, but I consider it to be the devil, for religion is much older than science, so it has the greater knowldege and aspect of life than any scientific explanation.

Yes, these "shadows" are dark and evil spirits, that dwell on earth to corrupt the living that are blind or fearful of them, they are much more powerful than human being because they both live in the spiritual and physical world, you have to be prepared for demonic spirits when they come.

After 12 years of having the Shadows present, I have to disagree with you. They are simply another form of life that exist in a very adjacent realm which occasionally overlaps with ours. A few years ago one wise researcher - Stanely Messenger - suggested that 'normal reality' existed inside a fishbowl, which itself existed in a much larger body of water; the glass of the fishbowl is wearing away...

See you have ghosts which were once people, alive and breathing, then you have entities that were never living nor dead. For Say, let's say someone had enough emotional output that is could form a spirit not of this world. This is a shadow person. A shadow person is a spirit not of this natural world. It has never lived but was created by someone.

OK, having experienced both human and alien spirits - oddly enough the alien ones seemed to have more problems with not recognizing their then 'state' - while involved in rescue-circle work...

How would you then reconcile your concepts of a spirit being not of this world - natural or otherwise?

I tend to have a different approach to the whole shadow people phenomenon. It is really not that uncommon to see strange "things" out of the corner of your eye, it can happen all the time. There is nothing paranormal about it, your perception is just a bit off. Plus, a lot of these encounters occur when either going to sleep or coming out of sleep. These encounters can easily be explained by natural phenomena like sleep paralysis and waking dreams. Also, if it is dark, it is much easier to see strange things out of the corner of your eye. Also, a shadow would obviously be a very typical thing for someone to see, if we assume that it is all in the brain. Before we jump to the conclusion of "the devil" or "demons" lets look for the psychological possibilities.

Religion being older than science is irrelevant. It most certainly does NOT have greater knowledge of anything. Religion is based on faith, stories, fables, myths, and unverifiable claims made thousands of years ago. Science is a method of inquiry focusing on empirical evidence and repeatability. When trying to determine the accuracy of a claim, the scientific method is always preferable. If religion works for you fine, but science is always the first choice when investigating any kind of claim.

Different kinds of ghosts do exist. Poltergeists, apparations, wraiths, shadow walkers all of these are examples of different types of ghosts, with their own properties. So your saying that all shadow walkers represent someone that is deceased, but someone that is a relative to the person that witnesses the sighting ?

I see them at night. I have a small female she is usually at my kitchen table. Another large black shadow goes up the stairs. I can see and hear his footsteps. They don't want me any harm.

According to my opinion there is just so many possibilities as to what these things could be...

- Some could be psychological damage.

- Some could be spirits, but the person seeing them does not have their third eye fully open so they just barely see the shape.

- Some could be ghosts, which actually would make sense, they disguise themselves this way.

The problem i'm seeing is that people seem to interchange spirits with ghosts, having no differences between the two. In my culture there are huge differences between the two, spirits are all good and ghosts are all bad.

Spirits willingly show themselves and try to be subtle and gentle, while cooperating with you. When you tell them to leave, they will do so because they have no negative intentions and they care for your interaction.

Ghosts often times hide in the darkness, do not identify themselves, come in all shapes and sizes and more often than not, could really care less about how you feel and are most times just around to cause pain be it psychological, physical, or even spiritual.

So when I see someone say, bad spirits or good ghosts it is really confusing to me. Would anyone mind explaining to me the reasoning behind people interchanging the words?

I think people mix up the terms because they see them as interchangeable and don't know any difference.

near this part of my town there are legends of the man in black....shadows...and other things. like for one story this kid wakes up and looks up and theres a shadow at the end of his bed with these cat like eyes. theres also a ghost story on it.

"john hardigan was in the hospital after a grusome car crash. his wife hailey hardigan was waiting outside until she heard this hearse and all of a sudden this truck pulls up and shadow like things with cats eyes jump out and go in the hospital..she sees them take out something body like..and when they drive away...haileys husband is DEAD"

but this isnt a story near our town..this is a story i read in some book. but still i see shadows... they dont really mean to harm anyone..they just watch us through mirrors..tv...even COMPUTER SCREENS..they dont harm us...

I want to find more info on those shadows with cat eyes i think i saw one

My sister and I deal with a machine that transports between parallel universes. When things come through the membrane ,people, animals, objects, they look black like that.

Makes since to some extinct but in my experience I find it difficult to believe they have all been in human form at one time or another. The only reason I say this is because I've seen a shadow person of what I believe could have been the spirit of the man who had committed suicide in the first home I moved to when I became of age but in that same house I also saw a shadow figure that was completely different in build and appearance and seemed to exude a dark or evil presence. That was the one that got me packing.

Doesn't the name say it all?

This question has been answered a million times. Most of the skeptics on here started out as believers and after being here a while changed their views.

Also, it would be a very boring site if it were just a bunch of believers agreeing with each other. We have actually helped a lot of people out by explaining sleep paralysis and logical reasons for happenings.
