Another update by the Mars Odyssey spacecraft. The most recent of photo's that was just released today shows a landslide in the Ganges Chasma region.

Here is the latest photo of the Mars landscape from Mars Odyssey HERE

This photo shows the most recent photo of the "face" and a "pyramid". Interesting pics, but I still wish there was a close up.

I always wondered about the craters on Mars.  From what I understand Mars has real bad sand storms which sometimes engulf the whole planet.  You would think there would be less craters visible.

Anyways, I always get so excited when Mars is in the news!

P.S

Those pictures rock Homer. The "face" is still very face-like.

I agree MC, and the latest pictures RIGHT HERE looks a little like part of my back yard. Only my back yard has more fire ants.

Fire ants are not cool :s08

Florida. Very little dirt and even less grass. Mostly sand. Well, kind of a sandy dirt actually. With weeds and fire ants.

Sand and fire ants are not cool :s08

Two new pictures from Odyssey were just recently made public. Both show sand dunes and ripple patterns.

HERE  and  HERE

The second picture shows an octopus like pattern and it's interesting to note the sheer edges of the pattern. They are fairly smooth in appearance much like the sheer edges of the 'face' monument. Click the  "FACE"  to look again at the most recent face picture and compare the edges.

When you look closely at the Mars landscape, you'll notice a lot of things have that smooth edge look to it.
