Exeter Posted August 20, 2003 #1 Share Posted August 20, 2003 If you read almost any book about UFO close encounters, alien abductions, or alien/government conspiracy theories published from the late 70's up to today, you'll notice that they all deal with three basic type of alien species; Greys (very pop culture), Nordics (very human-like), and Reptilians (nasty space lizards). There are a few others, but they all still revolve around this same basic theme. However, start reading UFO literature from the 50's, 60's, and early 70's and you'll find that humanoid alien encounters were the exception rather than the rule. Of course, there was George Adamski's human looking Venusians, Billy Meier's supermodel Pleiadeans, and Betty and Barney Hill's big-eyed little guys. But there was also a slew of odd looking UFOnauts reported back then; green hairy dwarfs, brown hairy dwarfs, 4ft. tall gelatinous blobs, glowing ghostlike entities, slug-like creatures with four legs and two arms, humanoids with four legs and four arms, big eared goblins, frog-like entities with eyes on stalks but no head, giants with no eyes, humanoids with lobster claws for hands, slab creatures with only one arm, flying Mothman-like entities (BTW, Mothman's connection with UFOs was tentative at best), round robots, square robots, cylindrical robots, and yes, one actual report of little green men. What ever happened to these guys? Did the Greys run them off? Did the Reptilians kick their collective @sses? Was everybody high back then? Any opinions? Halo_Jones Posted August 21, 2003 #6 Share Posted August 21, 2003 Oops mis-read the title of the thread...thought it said Erotic Aliens! ....Well while I'm here I might aswell give my theory.... I think the reason we don't see those type of Aliens anymore is because if you look at the Sci-fi films in those days it was full of weird and wonderfull looking Space creatures and people were influenced by the films, "The Blob" "It came From Outer Space" "Forbiddon Planet" "Thing From Another World" "Eye Creatures" ect ect. spyro_86 Posted September 2, 2003 #11 Share Posted September 2, 2003 Well that I know of there are about 10 alien races et only 4 bother with our planet. The grays, the reptilian ones, the little short ones and the human like ones that I just learned are called nordics. The grays are one with our government and control this planet and it's technology secretly. The reptilian ones want to wipe out the grays from the universe and free all the planets under their control through the means of violence. The short ones are here to experiment and monitor us like the grays, but they don't care about anything besides that. The nordics are simply here to monitor us. TheOracle Posted September 2, 2003 #12 Share Posted September 2, 2003 Spyro, You sound as though you know this for a fact. If it is fact then how do you know this ?, and do you have any proof that you could show us ?.
Sageghost Posted September 2, 2003 #13 Share Posted September 2, 2003 The grays are one with our government and control this planet and it's technology secretly. Well they're doing a great job of letting the planet choke on fossil fuels and various other by-products from the use of out-dated technology. I just would have thought that if the 'grays' are in fact the real power on Earth, then why are they letting the environment suffer so much? Benjo Koolzooie Posted September 2, 2003 #14 Share Posted September 2, 2003 It is a big universe. I don't think all aliens would look like Grays, if there are even aliens. Some could be pulsating round balls of lard with orange spots and 3 mouths and 1 leg and so on. I mean, if I saw a jellyfish on a planet in space, I would think of that as looking like an alien. I don't think all aliens look like grays. If there are any.
PurpleStuart Posted September 3, 2003 #15 Share Posted September 3, 2003 Halo has hit the nail on the head, the reason for people seeing different things over the years is based on what the current 'pop' culture is - yet more proof that aliens arn't actually visiting our planet at all

snuffypuffer Posted September 12, 2003 #20 Share Posted September 12, 2003 I think the greys, Nordics, and reptilians took over because they are easier to fit into the whole mythology that's sprung up over the UFO phenomenon over the past 50 odd years. After all, squatty toad-like being with eyes on stalks and no head is much harder to put into a sinister government conspiracy than greys, which are big-eyed, not quite human insectoids. It's the whole archetypal thing rearing it's ugly head again. Personally, I like the reports from the 40's, 50's, and 60's the most, as these are the stories that really captured my imagination when I was younger and got me into the whole UFOlogy field to begin with. Somewhere, someone is still seeing the squatty toad guys, but those reports are being drowned out by the bullsh** that fits the template. And that there folks, is my two cents. Aslan Posted September 12, 2003 #21 Share Posted September 12, 2003 Snuffy is absolutley spot on, I think. The existence of life somewhere in the universe is a completely different issue to the existence of alien encounters and kidnappings and whatnot - which, to be frank, is something that your average UFO buff hasn't cottoned on to. I've said this before somewhere, but the problem with UFO stories is that they're too democratic. They seem to be a catch-all phenomenon into which any loony can pour any belief they currently hold. The difference between a group like the Raelians and a group like BUFORA is astronomical. Nobody else in the 'parapsychological' world holds these extremes of opinion. Aliens seem to be 'all things to all men' and for that reason alone I would be deeply mistrustful.

thepsychoticseaotter Posted September 14, 2003 #24 Share Posted September 14, 2003 Ok so "alien encounters" (hey I have a name for a new erotica story ) are based on pop culture. So in fifty years do we see giger alien, the guys from battlefield earth and Klingons abducting people? Really I have been skeptical of aliens anyway this thread just prooves my point. Bloated Corpse Posted September 14, 2003 #25 Share Posted September 14, 2003 Klingons wouldn't abduct Humans, it's the Cardassians that do.
