Hog Dog Fighting

Hunting is one thing. Personally, I couldn't do it, but at least the people who do have the guts to do it themselves, and not just let some bozo in a slaughter house kill sick animals which we get to buy at the grocery store, without a thought about where it comes from. (And I am among those people who do eat meat.)

BUT. I will repeat this again: KILLING, OR CAUSING ONE ANIMAL TO KILL, MAIM, OR INJURE ANOTHER, FOR PLEASURE, FOR PROFIT, OR FOR THE ENJOYMENT OF OTHERS IS WRONG.

And I'm sure the hogs have NOT volunteered to be mauled.

I guess I`ll repeat once more maby space the letters out so you can understand.

We do not cause one to kill another, fact is the dogs don`t do the killing of the hog I do.

Its free, I do not charge to dispatch trouble hogs.

Its not for pleasure , I do it because it has to be done, just like haveing to stop at a stop sign.

Don`t do it for anyones enjoyment , but for my dogs that are dogs & not furry people like most pet owners think their dogs are.

I take lots of precautions, to insure my dogs well being , those on the hunts well being & see to it that the hog suffers vary little.

If you would like I`m sure I can put you face to face with a wild hog & then you can go pet & love him up, that would be some entertainment .

Weird. I just came across one of those videos on Putfile.

I do hunt. I don't own any guns and such. Instead I make all my weapons from scratch (some of these pics are on my website) but it was always for subsistance. Never for sport. I did for a brieff period when I was more easily influenced in college, but that phase was very short.

I dislike this "sport" because that animal deserves to die a much quicker, more painfree form of death - if it deserves to die at all - do you even eat the meat? I hunted for boar in Australia with some Aborigenes, but we ate some of the best bacon I had ever had. And the hunt was done respectfully. No pictures. No back slapping or congratulating. No trophies. Just meat.

This is nothing less than cheap porn for rednecks. I'm not going to bring in my Native culture into this, but sometimes I feel like I should. Especially when I see this stuff. Hunted, one of these days, your dogs are going to slip their grip. That hog is going to be free for a split second, and you will feel a gushing warmth in the inner and upper part of your thigh. Be careful of what you knowingly inflict upon other beings. It'll come back to you.

I have already felt that warmth, here & across seas. I have carried my dogs out across my back & am a vary handi vet, it comes with the job. Why would you go to the redneck slur ? That is just a picture of the person that you really are, you jump on the band wagon with the rest of the crowd just to get some satisfaction for something you really know nothing about. I do eat what I kill, & there have been many deer, hog, squirrel & other game I have watched & admired with great respect. I do not ask you to hunt do not really acre if you hunt or not, do not really care what you do with your life or how you live it, but you seem to think as do some others that god left you in charge of the world. I & the many like me love the outdoors, wildlife, & respect it, we do more good than you would be able to undestand. Hog hunting with dogs is a timeless way of life & will always be as some populations are large throughtout the US, they tear up corn & peanut fields costing farmers into the thousands of dollars. They lose out, they have to eat & have the same bills we all have. I guess it would not be so good to try & control this type of distruction, because yo feel this hog has been abused by some dogs that are not really trained to do this but have it in them to hunt. Its too bad some of you have such closed minds, thats alot of whats wrong in the world today.

I feel the hogs are being abused my ass. I got bit and partially brought down by one mastiff one time and I know what those pigs are going through. And if there's any anaimal that needs some culling, I reckon it's us, not animals. We're encroaching on THEIR habitat - whether they're native to the area or not.

if it was truely about control then you would shoot the hog and get it over with, not detusk it, sick a pitbull on it and nurse it back to health so that it could be tortured over and over again.

theres nothin u could say to defend this crap. these dogs may hunt by instanct, but this is not nature this is pure entertainment and profit for trashy human beings.

So it wouldn't be nature? How much of a chance does a salmon have vs a grizzly bear? :P Blame nature a bit.

This though is still wrong. The use the pig, heal it up only to be hurt again. That's insane. That should be stopped. <_<

Kratos, its not nature, its humans, breaking off the Hogs main weapon and then pitting them againt a vicious dog, if they were fighting the dog with their tusks then you might be able to argue nature

Holy batsh** I just clicked on the original page. so this is not hunting but a sport?! all I can say is that I am glad I haven't been to one of these events as paramedics would be picking up several maimed bodies - none of them canine or porcine.

You are one serious trash talker, as I said before do what you like in life. I do what I like, wouldn`t exspect you to understand much of this because you head is pretty well stuck up your butt. I guess since you have put all hog hunters or field trial runners in a pot as one that all think alike its only fair to say you are common criminal wishing to kill many people at once, thats what you keep saying right ? As much as I`d like to stay & post here a little longer I have other things to do & you are not really worth my time. I will tell you this If ever we shall meet I will not have much trouble in helping you get a free ride out of this world being you`re so ready to help others out. How many folks have you done away with already? Scared to say, can you even do it?

It has been fun, I hope the best for ya`ll in life , keep your eyes & shut & just do as the media says & I`m sure you`ll be alright I guess.

Oh yeah 1dominick1 what you say in that event, is no longer acceptable at field trials, hope you feel a little better. I do not have to defend it as you say only myself & family & I am sure you are just as trashy as some of the people you talk about.

Anyways got to go so ya`ll suck it up & have a good one

Nah this is wrong in so many ways! If the hogs population needs to be cut down, there are much more humane ways to do it than letting a Dog savage it to death. Just shoot it or something, that'd be better.

Idiots.

Hunted, have you read the original post? It is not about hunting wild hogs. It is about detusking hogs, and allowing trained dogs to attack them. The hogs are denied their natural defenses. People bring their children to witness the fight, and pay big money to see it.

I understand that wild hogs cause problems. I understand that many feel they need to be controled by culling. I may not agree with it, but I won't force anyone to agree with me, if the culling is done in a 'humane' manner: quickly and without causing the hog undue pain.

But the torture of hogs, or any animal (including humans) for enjoyment, and profit is wrong. Torture is wrong.

Maybe we can arrange the sport to move to Guantanamo. Might be legal there.

Yes crouton I have read the post & watched the video when it came to be last year I beleve, I agree with you that they were wrong . That is not the same as Bay pen field trials. That is what many hog hunters & field trial competators also have to deal with, that is an outlaw pen doing what was once called catch & tie for time. Its is full contact & yes there is damage & fools that try to beat their dog off a hog. That agree is wrong, I take great care of my dogs, they are in kennels, shots up to date & wormed every month. They are fed well & there health is of the up most of importance to me, but some are not llike this & they give a bad name to the rest. That is kind of the way it is looked upon, if one is like this then the rest are the same. In a field trial the dogs are trained to control the hog, dogs that are to aggressive are put out & sometimes banned. Points are taken away for biting & being tough rough. Not all hogs in these pens have their cutters blunted, some have full teeth & some dogs have protective vest & collars like the ones used in hunting. We may never agree but that is ok too, I have no reason to dislike anyone for their thought or how they feel. Myself & many others that hunt & run clean field trials dnot see it as a big money thing because it really is not, you can make a good dollar over a year if you have a dog that can bay a hog ( Barking & containing the hog without chewing him up) & be constant at this. I like to watch a good dog work, at cattle, hog baying, coon hunting, bird hunting, catching a fresbee doing what it is they do best, its pride in a handler. Its something that may be hard to understand, I do understand your & everyones point of view here, but there is another side that is vary differant from what was wrote & shot in the video. I have judged some field trials & that would have not happend , the hogs that are used are healthy & tagged by DNR, they are tested for disease. Like I said we may not ever agree & I am sorry that the majority of us that hunt or run field trials have to be looke upon like this but it is a strong subject that will never be right or wrong.

Thank you, Hunted, for that explanation. It sounds like what you do is much more responsible than this other 'hog-dog' fighting. I can't say that I disapprove of these trials, since I have heard of other competitions for dogs, like sheep herding, or duck herding, etc. It sounds to me like what you do is something similar. But it sounds to me like the only purposes of 'hog-dog' fighting are to make money, and get enjoyment out of abusing the hog.

edited to spell Hunted's name correctly!!!! ACK!

Why is it that everytime someone posts a story on here about humans mistreating animals someone always posts something like, "I would do that to the people."?

To me mistreating humans should be as horrible or more horrible than mistreating animals, so what gives?

No you don't understand; I would pour apple vinegar on their wounds so they could continue to host the events and I could continue bashing their heads in for it. It's wildlife management and conservation. Thay have their fun, and I have my fun. See?

Maybe one day we can try that out, it would be fun. You like many others talk a big game on the boards but I think it would be much differant face to face. Maybe since you write crap about wanting to hurt people so bad someone will start with your family first, one by one. That would be a heck of an awaking wouldn`t it, yep the dream would be something else then. Why don`t you get a real life & do some real good in the world there are millions of others that live in this world also. I want to have fun too.

No need to apoligize unless it is for my "misfortune" of being born into a redneck family.:yes:

It's not only rednecks that practice this vile and disgusting pursuit. There is nothing inherently wrong with being a redneck (not a term I enjoy using).

There IS SOMETHING MASSIVELY wrong with anybody who does this, supports it, watches it, condones it in any way!! :angry2: :angry2: :angry2: :angry2:

This is pure evil ! To torture an animal for sport over and over again, and training their children to become emotionless serial killers! And if there isn,t a law against this kind of abuse to animals and children alike, then the polititians down there are just as evil and need to be taken out of office, hog tied and let the dogs loose on them! :angry2:

Reminds me of Hogzilla...the 8 foot, 900lb pig shot in, I think, Georgia...Razorbacks are what Aussies call feral hogs...I think...

That movie also reminds me of "Lake Placid", but thats a different story (alligator)...

i'm from the county where hogzilla was killed (that's my claim to fame - LOL). anyway - this story is very disturbing. i am from the country (a redneck), but we don't all take part in that sort of animal cruelty. it makes me sick. i have known some people big into dog fighting. they will cruise around neighborhoods & steal family pets. take them back, duct tape their mouths shut & put them in pens with the pitbulls to get them use to the taste for blood & killing. all in the name of training. WTF. it's rediculously grusome.
